With the Rwanda option now effectively cancelled, the government is facing a dilemma about what to do with the tens of thousands of small boat arrivals from whom asylum claims are not being accepted, and who are then considered as illegal entrants per the 2023 Act.
According to a report in the Sunday Times the preferred option in the Home Office was an amnesty, but this was vetoed by Suella Braverman before her sacking. With new management on the scene it appears amnesty is now the most likely option since deportation (or transfer to a 'safe' country) are now effectively ruled out.
PS In the year ending June 2023 there were 52,350 'irregular' migrants detected entering the UK; 85% of these arrived via small boats.

You refer I think to 'The Amnesty That Dare Not Say Its Name', the one Rishi has set in motion so he can claim to have met his pledge to clear the backlog by the end of this year.
Latest asylum stats are to be released this week. Look for a spectacular leap in the number of 'valid' claims.

Labour plan to open asylum processing centres in France, which the French have said we can, that is hardly "no intention".

All Labours plan will achieve is migrants boarding ferries rather than dinghies.

What is Labour's plan for dealing with asylum seekers whose claim is refused?

I didn't think it would be necessary to spell it out, silly me. Redders, Labours plan is to relax the rules, such as they are, and fast track illegals who claim to refugees directly from the EU to England. This will stop the dinghies, hugely reduce asylum queues, and massively increase the UK (Mainly English) population. This will very much please outraged lefties and Starmers bosses in Brussels who behind closed doors will quietly relax many other rules.

Or is it 'because it is Labour it must be so'?

What is Labour's plan for dealing with asylum seekers whose claim is refused? They stay in France. Given that Labour's plan for a 'one-stop shop' is likely to attract many more asylum shoppers than currently attempt to cross the Channel in small boats I can't see the French being very thrilled about having the rejects dumped on them.
Has this been properly thought through?

What is Labour's plan for dealing with asylum seekers whose claim is refused? You think Labour will refuse asylum claims? Ever the optimist eh Dan.

What is Labour's plan for dealing with asylum seekers whose claim is refused? There will be no such plan as nobody will be refused
