Cleverly is an atheist. Religion played no part in his upbringing. He comes across to me as someone who is very much his "own man" ... his thoughts are untainted by "dogma". He's the most "well put together" personality on the current political scene. I would agree, until proved otherwise he comes across as someone with integrity which imo is a rarity in the political world these days. If the tories wish to govern again they need to remove the revolving door from the leadership and find someone with aforementioned integrity and stick with them through thick and thin, listen to the people, don’t appoint advisors like Cummings or say things like Brexit means Brexit when they mean nothing of the kind.

The Tories are going to get wiped out at the next GE, and thus anybody who was anywhere near a government position will (a) lose their seat or (b) not stand a chance in a leadership contest. If you look at history they will have two / three vanilla candidiates until they find somebody any good that is willing to step up to the plate. Braverman is a disaster, how Sunak cannot see that is beyond me. The Tories may lose the next election, but wiped out! Dont you believe it. Political commentators who just six months ago were predicting a Labour landslide next year, have been slowly pulling back. Many of them now say a Labour win is likely, but probably not a landslide. Some are even suggesting a hung parliament which would be the end for Starmer. Plus of course, Labour are rapidly losing the Muslim vote which they rely on in no fewar than 30 constituencies. Minority appeasing chickens comming home to roost. Anyone who says Suella was a disaster is a lefty or at best, a weak fence sitter. If Suella was prime minister it would be a disaster for Labour because it would rally Conservative voters who are crying out for a proper centre right Conservative PM, of which Sunak most certainly is not.

Sunak may yet win though if so likely to be by a small margin, recall shy Brexit voters think the same for the Tories.

I think he looks personally very pissed off with the court decision and wants to double down on it. Meanwhile crazy immigrants were in the process of destroying the roof of a helicopter manufacturer in Southampton. These are the ones Starmer would like to see "integrated" in our society.

I like the way he thinks. I'm unsure about Cleverly. He may be a formidable politician, but my concerns about him are a little more personal. I believe he's a half colonel in the TA and wears no fewar than five medals. On closer inspection, he has three jubilee medals, a medal for being in the TA for 10 years, and a medal for being in the TA for 12 years, dangerous stuff. These are bullshit medals, they are sort of medals the Americans dish out by the bucket load. In my day Jubilee medals were awarded to regiments not individuals, it was up to the CO who received them, usually the youngest soldier/s in the regiment.

If he didn't wear his medals at this gathering some people might question his loyalty.

I would not have a clue myself between one medal an the next. Maybe he is Muttley.
