Would you agree that Major's and Blair's governments were both centrist? No, they were left of centre. Blair was centre-left. and Major was certainly a moderate compared to right-wing Thatcher. But you have to have the ability to be objective in order to perceive the reality.

Reform may be recording 10% in the latest YouGov survey of current voting intention. But unless those votes are concentrated in a few areas rather than widespread, Reform is unlikely to do any better than Ukip in winning parliamentary seats. Its main hope of gaining any MPs might be to have one or two Tory defections. On the face of it, the latest YouGov survey shows Labour in a position to gain a landslide, but the 1992 general election shows how uncertain predictions can be. Plus there are the boundary changes — only 65 seats will have no change — England gains 10 seats, while Wales will lose eight and Scotland will lose two. There's no change in Northern Ireland.
The intention has been to make constituencies more even in terms of numbers of voters (approx 70,000 to 80,000). This has moved voters from industrial city constituencies, which are mostly Labour voting, and allocated them to suburb and town constituencies that have been mostly Tory voting.
Before so many polls regularly showed the Tories 20% behind Labour, boundary changes were said to favour the Tories by up to 10 seats. That's not so often said now...

What you call old Conservative didn't do so well against New labour did they . I wouldn't call Major's lot "Old Conservative", more like New Labour Lite - two cheeks of the same arse in other words. The exact same situation that we find ourselves in now. How history repeats itself, eh. You mean thatcher was old Conservative the woman who Brought in poll tax that lead to Riots and she was pushed out of the tory party. Didn't work out that well for her did it

How strange! Farage has only ever been able to be elected under the EU's proportional representation system. Parties he has represented have failed under the UK's first past the post system. Your GB News link strongly implies that the EU's system is more democratic. Yet, when it suits them and their gammon audience, the EU is undemocratic. It can't be easy being a gammon. A lot of double-think is required.

Thatcher had three highly successful terms in office before the left of the party ousted her...
And then lost to Labour.
Labour Lite has never been a good look for the Tories.

Some longer than others .

If any one knows the workings of the EU it's Farage, he was on the inside looking out, he knew all the dirty tricks and dealings, and that's why he spearheaded the campaign to get us out of it.
Wow how right he has been proven, the cesspit of vipers have shown their true colours, since Merkel has gone, and her sidekick Macron is left, it's all falling apart the pair of them were running the EU like the sheriff and his deputy, Macron has lost control and it's all about to explode.

And yet, the only place Farage has ever managed to be democratically elected to is the 'undemocratic' EU.

Is an error that was immediately corrected when the facts came to light a lie?
