Almost half of young Black British people plan to leave the country amid wider concerns of societal racism, landmark research launched on the eve of Black History Month has revealed. More than 10,000 Black British people were surveyed for the Black British Voices Project between November 2021 and March 2022. The research – a collaboration between British African-Caribbean newspaper The Voice, Cambridge University and Black-led consultancy I-Cubed – covered 16 topics including Britishness, education and the workplace.
While 45 per cent of under-25s said they regard Britain as their permanent home, 39 per cent indicated that they aspire to live elsewhere in the future, with the remainder either saying they do not know or prefer not to say.
When participants were asked if they were proud to be British, 49 per cent indicated that they were either definitely or somewhat proud to be British.
Of the remaining respondents, 45 per cent indicated that they were not really or not at all proud to be British, while 6 per cent said they do not know or preferred not to say.

Shocking, or what?

The cost of living here is expensive. House prices have been driven up by excessive demand and low construction rates for decades. Excessive demand was once the result of high levels of unskilled EU migrants.
So, not surprised really, bit saddened they feel this way, but not surprised.

It doesn't really mean a lot as a survey if white people are not included in it as well .Saying racism is a factor doesn't stack up if 50% of white people also want to leave the country .
Taking it on face value though its bad news for the UK . The people that want to leave will be hard working educated types who want to better themselves. Even if it may be a case of the grass is greener we would be losing the wrong people

Tell enough black people , enough times , that they are hard done by and they will believe you . I wonder how many Indian nor Chinese people feel the same ….?

The same thing that stops some of us when we get itchy feet , we realise we are better off where we are

A shortage of suitable destinations? Especially those where black contributions and achievements are as celebrated as they are in the UK.
