As a response to recent complaints about overly lax moderation and the fall in quality of debate and increase in unpleasant name calling and bickering the mod' team has got together to work out a few extra guidelines which we hope will lead to an improvement.
Following approval from the site owner they will be posted in the Rules and Community Announcements section.
1) Thread titles must not be insulting or likely to provoke bad tempered and unproductive discussion. Such titles will be edited or threads deleted altogether at moderators' discretion.
2) Prolonged exchanges containing nothing of substance, only bad-tempered name-calling and abuse, will be removed. This may be done unilaterally by individual mods without warning but will be recorded so that possible accusations of being overly officious or moderator bias can be looked at should they occur. Individual instances of name-calling and abuse will be considered on their merits if reported. Good humoured banter is still acceptable.
3) Members who make a report will be informed of our decision and given an explanation for our reasoning whether action is taken or not. This is intended to increase confidence in the report system.
4) Avatars and signatures must be respectful and not likely to cause offence or controversy.
5) Threads must not be aimed at individual members eg ''Jonsky and his ilk want to destroy the country''.

6) Please avoid using insulting nicknames to address fellow members. On receipt of a complaint the whole post will be deleted and repeat offenders may face further sanctions.
