It seems as though the SNP have made a pig's ear of the once much applauded Scottish Education system, although to be fair it was on its way down well before they got their hands on it. It would seem that the snats don't understand that a claim of ~2% more have reached a standard does not magically mean it's better. They do this while literally ignoring ~85% of the UK: "While there are no separate figures for England".
Tell eurostat and other agencies that b4 , instead of carping nonsense on this forum.
there is , it comes under england and wales.
Why tell us though?
Sandy was specifically talking about scotland ,and the reply i gave him talks about scotland.

Official figures from EuroStat show Scotland has the best-educated population in Europe, showing that the our education system has improved and performed better under the current SNP Scottish Government.
With 50.4% of the population educated to degree-level, Scotland leads Denmark with 48.6%, Finland with 47.5% and Luxembourg with 47.1%.
In the UK, Wales has 41% and Northern Ireland has 40.6%. No separate figures for England are offered but the UK has 44.7%.
Notably, in the period of SNP-rule, the figure for Scotland has climbed from 36.1% to 50.4%. In 2008, Scotland was 5th.

Perhaps you should leave it to those who actually understand what a percentage means, especially when working within vastly different population sizes. Lowering the requirements and expectations has always been a lefty ploy to mask failure.

Well, the proof of the pudding doesn't indicate that, if the Scottish children are so well educated why are they not bright enough to see through the SNP and their lies? This is interesting, and probably reflects the situation more accurately than your own rather biased link. www.spectator.co.uk/article/how-the-snp-wrecked-scottish-education/

Politics and education leads to suffering for the latter. I guess it's no coincidence that Thomas chooses to believe anything that pats him on the head whilst posting personal abuse as an argument.
EDIT: The notifications just aren't worth my time when they're just Thomas' pointless tangents.

You were unaware that scotland for example has had a seperate education system since 1707 , as a key tenet of the acts of union , and vinny doesnt even know the name of his own country.
Ommy tells me he has lived and served in both scotland and northern ireland , but was seemingly unaware of the decades long support the palestinians have in both countries.
I think the anecdotal evidence on this forum alone backs up the difficult job the teaching profession have in england.
There doesnt appear to be much critical thinking going on .
Why engage brain though , when the torygraph can do your thinking for you?

You then further give us an article from the guardian , from two years ago , that tells us the oecd says scotlands then current school inspection system and exams agency was over cumbersome and complex? Despite this the oecd says...

Sandy whats your point? That back in 2018 , 5 years ago , scotlands education system could be improved but was still among the best in the oecd , but that in the latest figures we have from eurostat from last year , scotland has the best educated people in europe? ten percentage points above tory run england hiding behind uk figures?
we do try for perfection as scots sandy , but sometimes being number one just isnt good enough for british nationalists.
Independent scientific data from Eurostat - which also included non-EU states - showed that the percentage of Scots holding post-secondary school qualifications continues to be the highest in Europe, ahead of the Republic of Ireland and Luxembourg.
Scotland has been number one for the percentage of 25 to 64-year-olds educated to degree level in every single year between 2011 and 2019, the latest year for which figures are available.
There have also been substantial improvements since the SNP came into power; in 2019 the share of Scots with a post-secondary school degree was at 50.4% compared to only 36.1% in 2007.
Over the entire period for which comparative data is available, Scotland has had the largest increase amongst UK nations. From 2007 to 2019 Scotland’s performance has increased more, and has also been well ahead of, Tory England and Labour-run Wales.

Scotland is a non country. why have i got a scottish birth and marriage certificate then ? Why dont you have a british one? most countires in the world , certainly in the developed world issue them , but not the imaginary country britian.
I will be off to support my country at the euroes hopefully if i get tickets.
we dont need a third party de facto english parliament telling us what to do. End the union.
1707 was a terrible mistake .
As i have oft said, you are going about this all wrong. You need to be campaigning for us to be given a voice to chuck you out of the union. I’d certainly vote for it. I would have before on the grounds you deserve it. Now i’d vote to be rid of the lot of you, the sole proviso being departure was permanent and irrevocable.

You have touched on a point that I made some time ago, we are in the absurd situation whereby the Scots are blaming the English because the Scots voted to remain in the Union and the English have had no opportunity to vote on whether they wish to remain in a union with Scotland or not. I would prefer to retain the Union, but only if the three other countries were enthusiastic participants, but they don't seem to be, however they are content to take our money then bitch about us. In the case of Scotland it seems to being heading for a self destruct situation with the "progressive left" shower they have voted into power, they make the Great Train Robbers look like pickpockets.

Back in 2014 i looked at tge situation and personally came to the view that whilst many of Alex Salmands statements and even more of his silences begged questions i did think it possible an independent scotland might make a go of it even if their first act would be to grovel at the EU’s door to surrender it Today i feel the economic situation is vastly changed and would bring far more pain but i still think if the majority of scots still want out after having these costs explained they should leave and take with them all hope of Starmer ever escaping opppsition.

Well even Swinney at the time accepted it was not good enough, strange if we were ahead of most. I suppose it depends what Stats you wish to look at. I note most of your stats are about the same period I was referring to yet I was told mine were somehow prehistoric.
