Teach kids to clean their teeth.
Naturally you expect me to criticise this, and although it's obviously not going to save the NHS I do agree that kids should be taught basics like brushing their teeth. Arguably and reasonably perhaps, this should be the parents job, however a quick reminisce.
At infant school in 1964 we had a nurse come to the school, she was dressed like a 1960's nurse so I assume she was a nurse. We were shown a short film, she gave us all a toothbrush and showed us all how to brush our teeth. That may be a bit too nanny state, but I can see the relevance of it more today than when I was a kid.
We didn't eat sugar or sweets or drink Coke, our diet was very different to today. Of course we brushed our teeth, mum (Who in a previous life was a Sergeant Major) would march us to the bathroom and sit on the side of the bath as we brushed our teeth before going to bed.
This is one of those policies that in the shadow of net zero, war in Europe, the cost of living crisis, people will rubbish as trivial. But in a rare show of support for Starmer, I agree with him. Prevention is always better than cure, it's like broken windows policy, address the little things so they don't get bigger.

It's not a plan for the NHS, as you put it, it's a plan for NHS dentistry. Kinda goes together don't it?

We managed to teach our kids to brush their teggies. They manage it themselves now. They are teaching their kids to brush their little teggies. No nurse or government interference involved.

This is disgusting so dont read it. I was brushing my teeth solo well before 5, and because it tasted so good, i swallowed the lot, i didnt spit. I am heaving at the memory.

Something I've needed to do as an adult after a heavy session of Wray & Nephew the night before...
