Talk to Xi Jinping or Narendra Modi, there is absolutely nothing nil nada zilch, other than look virtuous the UK can do about anything on a global level. Assuming they are correct (and I don’t) it’s like news that a liner is sinking in the North Sea and will be lost with all hands and that only the Birmingham lifeboat can save the situation. Quite, and I don't for a moment assume they are correct. And if in some future nightmare world a liner in the North Sea needed help, I doubt the Birmingham lifeboat would be available, it would in all likelihood be otherwise engaged ferrying illegals to the 28th state.

Some people refuse to accept that there is such a thing as Global Warming or Climate Change caused by human activity. Fresh data out today shows that the mean temperature of The Earth this year has never been hotter, and that the average temperature in Europe in July and August is the hottest since records began. MY QUESTION FOR THE DENIERS IS THIS : No doubt they probably have some sort of alternative theory, based perhaps on the TINY minority of scientists who are deniers ( possibly as many as 1% of all scientists ). When will temperatures stop rising, and what will cause temperatures to stop rising ? Will they stop rising before millions of Africans and dwellers of the Middle East make a desparate stampede for cooler climates, or after. ? FFS, whether global warming or climate change is real is irrelevant as far as the UK is concerned. The government could switch UK Plc off right now, and it would make not a jot of difference on a global level. We are too small to make a difference, do you understand that? And to say the earth has never been hotter is fantastic, it's something straight out of a fairy tail. Anyone who comes out with such extremist nonsense deserves nothing but derision.

I do deny that man is responsible because of man's production of CO2. I am also highly sceptical that moves to net zero will have any effect. When I ask "If we achieve net zero by 2030, what will the temperature be in 2050?" there is a very loud silence. By the way, I understand that the data out today was comparative to previous data going back to 1940. so saying that the mean temperature has never been hotter is both inaccurate and disingenuous. The authoritarians want to restrict the lives of people to make them conform to an imagined standard, with no known consequences. As a matter of interest, what are your scientific qualifications ? Published two years ago >> "The scientific consensus that humans are altering the climate has passed 99.9%, according to research that strengthens the case for global action at the Cop26 summit in Glasgow. The degree of scientific certainty about the impact of greenhouse gases is now similar to the level of agreement on evolution and plate tectonics, the authors say, based on a survey of nearly 90,000 climate-related studies. This means there is practically no doubt among experts that burning fossil fuels, such as oil, gas, coal, peat and trees, is heating the planet and causing more extreme weather" ------------------------------------------------------------- The world's September temperatures were the warmest on record, breaking the previous high by a huge margin (BBC) Last month was 0.93C warmer than the average September temperature between 1991-2020, and 0.5C hotter than the previous record set in 2020. Ongoing emissions of warming gases in addition to the El Niño weather event are driving the heat, experts believe. Some scientists said they were shocked by the scale of the increase. They say 2023 is now "on track" to be the warmest on record.

The mysterious silent majority who Red tells us are passionately behind Reform’s opposition to Net Zero oddly failed to show up again last night at the Rutherglen by election. Just 403 votes - 1.3% - similar to other by elections recently. I blame an Establishment Conspiracy always staging such polls on a night when Corrie is on but others may conclude that this “majority” are a figment of an active if deluded imagination.

It would appear and I may be wrong, that people who oppose net zero, in part because of the cost, are either ignorant of the cost of global warming and the utter worldwide disruption we will all face or they are ignoring it and leaving the fallout to our descendants. Global warming will cost more, financially, in lives and world disruption than the cost of slowing or even halting the approaching cataclysm. We already know that the weather is changing and even the deserts are getting bigger and hotter, the Sahara is 10% bigger than it was nearly a century ago. Global warming is slowly creeping towards the 'tipping point' and once there there will be nothing we can do to stop it. Those at the forefront of research n new power sources will stand to make a fortune. What else can your crystal ball tell us? If global warming scientists use crystal balls.............

Do you think a planet with out of control global warming will be comfortable? you think the UK has any impact? Turning off a few lights will make very little difference to global warming, I agree. Leading the world and developing green technologies will make a massive difference around the world. The UK taking a lead will put us on the world table. Isn't that what Brexit was all about, UK leading and not following?

GB News and Richard Tice! you have definitely lost the plot. What's the answer to poisoning the atmosphere if it isn't renewables? Talk to Xi Jinping or Narendra Modi, there is absolutely nothing nil nada zilch, other than look virtuous the UK can do about anything on a global level. This is very Toryish. It's not our problem. What were the Chinese doing when we were dumping millions of tons of CO2 at the beginning of the last century?

Well actually they use an updated version, because they are projecting what might happen. Is happening. Global warming is not a projection it is a fact. First they project it, then you are told they must control how you live your life. Then the psychologists take over. Which is the usual fear first then control.

Isn't that what Brexit was all about, UK leading and not following? Well personally I'm not interested in leading anyone anywhere. You might want to be a leader strutting your stuff on the world stage, but I would much prefer being a quiet, irrelevant little backwater..
