She has been declared insane. As you'd expect to be the case in situations like this.
People do sometimes kill their kids for rational if evil reasons. But to go on and do that to the body is an obvious big warning sign of insanity.
Usually people who do things like that most often turn out to be undiagnosed paranoid schizophrenics - or diagnosed ones off their meds - who hear imaginary voices in their heads telling them to do stupid shit.

Its called Filial cannibalism ... when animals (and occasionally humans) eat their offspring. Its believed that the trigger is the odour of the offspring ... cats sometimes eat their offspring. Cat experts say not to make a fuss about it ... its just natural behaviour.
