With respect people calling for Farage to be Tory party leader simply don’t understand the man’s skill set. While I disagree with his politics, I do acknowledge him to be a highly effective publicist and disrupter. He does though have personality defects that make it almost impossible for him to work with colleagues. While I acknowledge that the current Tory party is becoming almost indistinguishable from the old UKIP, He would be an absolute disaster running a major political party let alone trying to run a government. Horses for courses…. One might almost say he was, 'Trumpian' But unlike Ed Davey he knows what a woman is.

Honestly I would love it if the Tory party allowed Farage back in, confirming the UKIP takeover of the party, even more if they gave him a position. - almost inevitable split and exile from power for a generation. Surely they wouldn't be that stupid.

Surely they wouldn't be that stupid. I seem to remember Cameron calling UKIP "Fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists". A few years later he was forced to allow the long overdue referendum that UKIP demanded. Didn't work out very well for Cameron did it lol.

What is the point of your post Red? How many seats in Westminster have UKIP won? Two, Douglas Carswell and Mark Reckless. Not only that, 24 EU seats. Enough to force the establishment to hold a referendum on membership of the EU. Which the Europhiles lost, badly.

What is the point of your post Red? How many seats in Westminster have UKIP won? They didn't need to win any in order to set the agenda.
As Camoblair and the EUphiles found out.

I notice the Tories are begging for more time and for Reform not to split the vote. Too little to late IMO. People continued to vote Labour because they were told that it will take more time to fix the things Labour started, which included all out war, terrorism and of coure all the so-called damage the previous Tory government had done (NHS worship, mostly). The Tories were a shambles and I would say temporarily unelectable at the time. It was only when Gordon Brown trashed the economy that people finally had enough of their BS and voted Tory.
Reform has to split the vote if there's to be even a fantasy of reform.
