You are not as centre right as you seem to think. You think I'm a centrist? No. I think you are hard right.

You think I'm a centrist? No. I think you are hard right. Fair enough. Monte, regardless of what the truth might be, you are perfectly entitled to have and to voice any opinion you like.

Its almost like there was an election due imminently and very likely then a battle for the soul of the Tory party. All politicians are playing games at the moment. Take all they say with a large spoon of salt. Playing games? I don't think they're playing games. The Tories are moving to the centre right because they have at long last realised such a move is a vote winner. I don't think you should take anything that Sunak says ate face value RR. He's a con man. The moving of the ban on new ICE cars from 2030 to 2035 was a typical Sunak trick. When you look at it "nothing has changed" (as Mrs May liked saying). All that's happened is that instead of the ICE ban starting in 2030, all that's happened is that 80% of new cars have to be pure EVs in 2030 but they can still be sold until 2035 with the proportion diminishing to zero in 2035. So a minute number of ICE cars can be sold between 2030 and 2035 - if you can get hold of one at all. He kept that bit quiet. Everything with Sunak is a lie. he says he'll stop the illegal boats but does absolutely nothing. Meanwhile he has issued vast numbers of visas to Indians to come into the UK so we're now flooded with over a million "Legal" immigrants. Look at the queues of Asians at Heathrow. He's intent on destroying the UK.

But at the moment Sunak is saying the right things, he's playing to a Conservative audience because he knows it's popular with the electorate which is bad news for Starmer, and I'm willing to take that for now. I don't particularly like Sunak, but the thought of a pro EU, pro immigrant, pro woke, Labour government is a frightening prospect.

Popular with the electorate or popular with a small subsection of even Tory voters who probably would have voted Tory anyway?. Whose to say that every vote it gains from Reform is not lost fivefold from "one nation" Tory voters switching to the Lib Dems.
