Interesting isn't it that two of Fergus Ewing's supporters were Kate Forbes & Ash Regan? Both were in the running for the party leadership just a few months ago. What to make of that? I think it is understandable for Forbes to give her support after all they represent neighbouring constituencies and both are on the right in the party structure. Regan's support cannot be seen in the same way. She is an Edinburgh MSP and is on the party's left. Of course it may be that the three of them just get on personally and socially. Who knows? But, it will be fascinating to hear the reasoning behind the two women's actions. So, Ewing is out for a week (a penalty he is appealing). Will he eventually return to the group or do an Angus MacNeil and go his own way? Only time will tell. I reckon Fergus is reading the runes up in Inverness & Nairn, where dualling the A9 and the A96 are emotive issues. The SNP Government, earlier this year, said that the A9 would not be finished by 2025, as promised in 2007. That stirred things up in the constituency and forced Yousaf & co to think again. Apart from the Aberdeen to Inverurie stretch (completed years ago), the A96 has not even been started on only fuels the fire. Of course, had the SNP not been forced, by the Unionists, into the Edinburgh trams project, the A9 might be bang on time for a 2025 completion
