I wasn't saying people that come here see themselves as British .What I was saying is that they can legally become British but maybe not English/Scottish ect It was a genuine question as to how these people become Scottish ,if the answer is its a mindset then fair enough , I just thought there would be a higher bar well in your earlier post , you used words like "regard" or" aspire "to be british . You also dont have to come to the yookay to legally become british. Britishness is a citizenship that is applied to people living in overseas areas like the falklands , or gibraltar , to people who may have never once set foot in these islands. As i said earlier , despite this mythical country not existing on any map , britishness is sort of like a hangover from the days of empire. So that too is a mindset that only exists on travel document pieces of paper.
what do you mean? If someone like roza salih comes to scotland from kurdistan , they can become scottish. She clearly sees herself as scottish . are you merely talking about citizenship from a uk perspective? Roza regards herslef as scottish , and aspires to be scottish , which is what you were inferring black people dont in england with englishness/britshness earlier. You even talked about deporting people who dont see themselves as british.
Sorry but you appear all over the place.
your original argument was that they dont see themselves as british. Presumably , they are legally british if they are here , but that wasnt your earleir poiint .You were talking about how they see themselves irresepctive of legality.

why is that then? I dont regard myself as british , and in the last census results published from scotland two thirds of scots doent regard themselves as british , with only 6 % seeing themselves in terms of national identity as british .
I would wager a high percentage of northern irish are the same , similar to many in wales and england.
Is britshness dying out? perhaps many of these young black people see themselves as english ?
It doesn't really matter what you or anyone else 'regard' yourselves as Thomas, it doesn't alter the fact that you are British. red. this is irrelevant . Dogburger was talking about perception initially and how people who dont see themselves as british should be deported. They are legally british as am i and yourself , for the moment anyway.

I dont see myself as British either . I dont think I said Im up for deporting those who dont see themeselves as British . I believe there may have been other criteria involved Ah yes they also were the lazy feckers who were not aspiring to be anything
