It’s rumoured that Rishi Sunak is drawing up plans to slash inheritance tax. In my view it should be scrapped entirely. Why should the state take another bite out of savings and worked for possessions that my parents, or me, have accrued out of taxed income that we want to pass on to our children or relatives…?

Totally agree.
Here is everything I own, mostly bought with added tax and paid for with earnings that had already been taxed and now you want another 40% of the lot?
It is surely the most immoral tax.

The one thing that puts me off is Sunak, why would this 'Billionaire' want to push this through.
Come on, if you're going to do something good, make sure it's for the right reasons, and not the usual self-serving, we had a belly full of that with Blair.

Yes, I'd be in favour of scrapping inheritance tax, too.

Sunak, a former hedge fund manager and reputedly the UK's wealthiest ever prime minister, and his heiress wife, Akshata Murty, have an estimated worth of about £529m.
His Wife The majority of Akshata Murty's (Sunaks wife) net worth comes from Infosys, her family's tech company, which is valued at around $63 billion (£51 billion).

I'm sure he want to scrap inheritance tax, having said that, he's probably already sorted those loopholes out.

Wouldn't any inheritance be dealt with under Indian law?

I don’t care about Sunak’s own wealth, but I would like that any I have can go where I want. A factor that makes me think abolishing inheritance tax completely is a good move is the complaints from tax advisors that it would cut off the income that they get for devising and managing a whole raft of tax avoidance wheezes…

Sure, just one thing, where will they make up the shortfall?

Sure, just one thing, where will they make up the shortfall? Those who can't afford it, it's the usual story the less well off propping up the well-to-do.

Cut inheritance tax for £1,000,000 and below, the rest pay their way.

And, following on from your point: Why on Earth should I, while alive, have to indulge in those sorts of financial shenanigans simply to ensure that my children inherit my assets when I'm dead?

No, they do have UK interests, and will hope to pass that on to their children, one way or another they will have taxes connected to their UK wealth and businesses, Sunak is sorting that now while he has the chance.

Sorry I can't fuck off Blair Starmer and the rest of Labour double standard hypocrites, while I watch Sunak feathering his 'own personal' nest, I like to think I am fair, and this is just a perk for Sunak, wont wash with me.
