Seems really hard to imagine that a year ago Liz Truss was our PM. Rather shambolic that was.

Would it surprise you if I said I don't like her?

I still say Truss should have been given a chance, she was doomed from the start because the Tory establishment wanted Sunak. The electorate voted for Boris and put him in number 10, Tory MP's got rid of him. Members of the Tory party voted for Truss and put her in number 10, Tory MP's got rid of her. No one voted for Sunak, but it doesn't matter because Tory grandees wanted him in number 10, he was their man. Kinda leaves a bad taste in the mouth tbh.

Would it surprise you if I said I don't like her? Not really. She doesn't really come across as very likeable at all, even for those she is politically close to. How on earth she won the leadership contest last year, one doesn't know, but it does seem to be that the Tory membership is out of touch with public opinion.

She was and would be a disaster if she ever got another chance, having her reminds me of the US Trump and Biden if that’s the best we can come up with time to shut up shop.

If that's your opinion fair enough, it's wrong but you're perfectly entitled to it. No prime minister has ever been judged on just 49 days in office. She wasn't given a chance because of the reasons I stated above.

The voters voted wrong again, we cannot have any of that you know. Probably something to do with that awful internet which somehow keeps finding people to tell the truth, this must be stopped. We need more trolls.

Truss thought she could run before she could walk, I do get the feeling she didn't suffer fools gladly, and I do think she would have stood up to a lot of this woke nonsense, I think her downfall was trying to fill Maggies shoes too quickly, she could have been the best Prime Minister we never had.

Take it from me, nobody could destroy the UK economy in 45 days, that is an outright lie, Boris couldn't manage it even by keeping the majority of people sitting at home cowering under their beds, while giving out free money like it was confetti. Which was of course with added interest, although most of it just disappeared. Lizz Truss was not the chosen one by the old guard at Tory HQ, who have completely lost touch with their own voters anyway. Labour won't win the next election than for any other reason than the Tories old guard wish it so, Lizz Truss just took the fall for it all.

Frankly, because of the financial havoc she caused, it would have best had we never had her as prime minister.
But her legacy lives on — as many mortgage payers and renters know to their monthly cost.
The Truss premiership shows the danger of not allowing party MPs to have the final choice of party leader...

Don't disagree with much of that, but just to clarify on this bit, are you referring to Tories becoming out of touch with the general public, or more specifically with Tory members? (FWIW I think both are true)

Just to clarify your point, the Bank of England BoE are totally independent of the Government, so if they FUCKED UP, it had nothing to do whatsoever with the Government. .. LOL

Seems really hard to imagine that a year ago Liz Truss was our PM. Rather shambolic that was. She had good economic ideas in the main but her presentation was a disaster and she was torpedoed by the BoE. Of course it didnt help that she proposed the biggest spending giveaway in British political history...
