I've been trying to think of a reason why there may be a bar on reporting names/organisations in this case. The only thing I can come up with is that the case also involves a family (law) dispute and that reporting the organisation would identify the family.
There may be another issue, but I can't think of one that might bar reporting in the way described.

Interesting. Whatever the block, if the funding is available from the family or crowdfunding, she should be allowed her trip to the USA to get treatment, if they will have her. Otherwise people will always think an opportunity to live was missed. Sounds agonising.

I get the feeling that nobody knows what they are doing if it was a family issue perhaps but in that case why are they barred from naming the hospital involved? The govt announced only yesterday that Martha’s law will be imposed meaning patients have a right to a second opinion. biz.crast.net/government-to-impose-marthas-law-on-patient-safety-in-english-hospitals/

Back in the 60s my brother worked in a geriatric hospital. He'd been there about three weeks when one of the staff took him for a drink ... and told him that during the ten years he'd worked there he'd killed over 400 patients .. and described the methods he'd used. I've heard many stories about how things used to be in such places. Another story someone told me was about how their family GP asked to meet all the family ... and told them about the problems they were going to have with a bedridden elderly relative. If everyone agreed he could give her an injection (which is what happened). I once read that it was only in 1993 that family members were obliged by law to feed sick adult family members who couldn't feed themselves.

The worst thing about this case, OK one of the worst things, does that make sense? is the fact that court imposed reporting restrictions blocked any chance of a fundraising campaign for treatment in the US which may have saved her life. It makes you wonder what goes on behind the scenes.

It makes you wonder what goes on behind the scenes. Indeed maybe they'll hold another enquiry and lessons have been learnt, probably not.
Thinking about it there should be a law that the next public official that says "Lessons have been learnt" should be immediately fired and lose all pension rights.

Patient "ST" died this week according to Calvin Robinson. This was ths case, looks as though the family didn't get as far as the application to remove reporting restrictions. Very sad indeed.

Disturbing, have the NHS doctors learnt nothing from the case of Ashya King (the boy the parents had to abduct to get proton treatment)

I listened to this earlier and Neil Oliver is quite brilliant. His monologue refers to the case of 'ST' and is well worth a listen...
