Which could well mean they lose the election next year, when Labour won under Blair the Labour Party inherited a strong economy and the Treasury Coffers were full, when they were voted out the total opposite the Coffers were empty, hence the years of austerity had to be undertaken, no other choice. Our economy is now recovering somewhat the Tories had to spend and borrow huge amounts due to Covid inflation rose, then IMHO organised strikes certainly by the Marxists led Rail Unions damaged our economy which made it even hard to reduce inflation, left wing Teachers and even in the NHS, one mans pay rise in another mans price rise. If Labour do win the next GE they will inherit the same as the Tories did from Labour , will they do any better I hope so but I think not

What you mean by right wing is actually left wing then? The left does not use austerity to 'steal' from the people. Just how should a 'right wing' government rule then?

All good socialist stuff..

It depends on what anyone means by the word "Socialism"
Does it mean Marxism, or Communism, or does it mean Left wing Socialist parties in general, or how about the more moderate Left of centre Social Democratic parties of Europe.
Many Republicans in the United States refer to Democrats as pursuing Socialism, and many Americans believe that Justin Trudeau s Liberal Party of Canada is Socialist.
The Right of centre CDU in Germany follows the "Social Market Economy" doctrine, the CDU been the party of Angela Merkel.
One thing is absolutely certain, and that is that the nations with the highest standards of living, and the most successful economies are those who generally follow a Social Democratic line and NOT Conservatism.
In the LIST OF COUNTRIES BY SOCIAL PROGRESS INDEX, neither the United States or the United Kingdom come in the top 15, and 11 of the top 15 are European countries dominated by Scandinavia, Canada is in there, as is Australia and New Zealand.

I think we all know that socialism works on paper. In reality socialism means everyone is equal. It's just that some people are always more equal than others. This is why socialism has failed.

Thankfully they are not hard-right, we had enough of that rubbish with Thatcher. The Tories had little option to rescuing the electorate over Covid, hard right policies then would have seen the Tories lost somewhere in the long grass.

All good socialist stuff.. Oh! you mean make a double effort to make the rich richer. The number of Muslims in the country doubled under the Tories back in the Thatcher era, and that was without the asylum problems that were unstoppable without breaking the law. Few countries, if any, have escaped the disruption caused by Covid. Unfortunately nothing matters to the day dreamers who dream of the disgusting anti-social mindedness of hard right Tory garbage.

The left does not use austerity to 'steal' from the people. No, it uses taxes instead and massively inflates the public sector.

Blair inherited an improved economy, proving just what a waste of time Thatcher was. That improved economy still had a hugely increased black hole in state education due to Thatcher's Grant Maintained funding of some state schools while the majority of state schools were starved of funding. Similarly the NHS was starved of funding as Thatcher tried to persuade and coerce people into going private. Austerity was the result of the International Financial Meltdown which is why so many countries suffered years of austerity. How do you manage to get so many things wrong, by fact and by insinuation, in one short paragraph?

Austerity was the result of the International Financial Meltdown which is why so many countries suffered years of austerity. How do you manage to get so many things wrong, by fact and by insinuation, in one short paragraph? Austerity happened in the UK because Labour failed to regulate our financial systems properly. Pretending it happened out of the blue is just a lie, they ignored the warnings, and it happened on their watch! If your narrative was true then EVERY country would have been hit hard, but they weren't. Countries with good regulation were largely unaffected.
