It was always going to be a VERY soft interview but Ms Hussein exceeded even my worst expectations. I have said before that it's only acceptable to have a muslim presenter on "Today" if they're excluded from interviewing people whom he/she will be biased about because of their religion. So Ms Hussein should never have been allowed to interview the likes of "Baroness" Warsi about terrorism (because it ended up as cosy fireside chat about how it's nothing to do with Islam) or ANY Israeli politicians because she obviously hates them and the interviews are ridiculously biased. She should also never have been allowed to broadcast (on Today) her views on the "contributions" of muslims to Britain. That was unbelievable even for the BBC.
So now we have Hussein interviewing Sadiiq Khan about his ULEZ zone. There are so many questions to ask Khan about this nonsense and Khan has avoided most of the broadcasters because he knows he doesn't have the answers. But he knew perfectly well that he'd get an easy ride from Ms Hussain. There were a lot of questions that could have been asked:
- Why does he think cars are polluting when they only emit CO2 and water (or they don't get an MOT)
- Why has he done nothing about the problem with particulates - which are mainly to be found in the Underground network
- Why did TfL start installing cameras before the end of the consultation period
- Why did TfL carry on installing cameras after the consultation had revealed that Londoners were not in favour of extending the zone
- Why did Khan spend £800,000 of taxpayers' money to get Imperial College to estimate the effects of the extension and then try to get other "experts" to reject their study when it didn't show what he wanted.
- Why has he put ULEZ signage (and cameras) all over the new zone without planning permission
- Why is he trying to fine people for entering the ULEZ zone when it's illegal to do this because the signs don't indicate that it's a "charge" area (signified in the congestion zone by a "C")
- Why do the fines continue to increase when people have appealed the fine
- Why does he think that 90% of the cameras have been vandalised in the ULEZ area
- what does he think about the fact that many councils are refusing to put up the signage in the extended zone
- Et cetera
There are just so many questions to ask about this nonsense, but Hussein asked NONE of them. NONE.
Hussein should be sacked. It's crazy that she was ever employed.
