I was sitting in the park the other day thinking about my lot in life and the state of the planet when a loud voice boomed out "DAVID!", I looked around but there was nobody nearby. Then the voice continued: "God here!" I immediately began thinking about all the things I'd done wrong in my life ... and expected to be told off. However, God, knowing my thoughts, said: "Don't worry ... I am well-pleased with you" (which I thought strange considering all the things I'd done wrong over the years). God then continued with: "You are my Chosen One" ... which rather alarmed me ... an image of being crucified flashed through my mind. God, again knowing my thoughts, said: "Don't worry about that. That didn't work. None of the various religions and ideologies I've given mankind so far have worked ... Satan has always thwarted me. I've decided to try something new ... and chosen you to propagate my final attempt to get humanity to see sense".
(When God mentioned "ideologies" I thought of Communism ... God noted this and, with a sigh, said: "I had high hopes that Marx would be the man to save humanity ... him being an Evangelical Lutheran I thought he could rectify Luther's mistakes ... but again Satan stepped in and he rejected my advice and became a politician.").
God then continued: "It is my Will, David, that you shall found and propagate a new religion that shall be called 'Lertism' ... that you shall distribute signs throughout the land that shall read:

... once sufficient interest has been aroused I will tell you what to do next".
So ... folks ... if any of you want to participate in this enterprise to rescue our Planet from its present predicament I'll tell God about you (next time he communicates with me) and suggest that he designates you to be Saints. (he needs all the help he can get).
