[12 hours ago] Orlando Fraser KC, Chair of the Charity Commission, said: "Our inquiry found that, over a significant period of time, and following a rapid expansion of its operations, Care4Calais was not managed well. Its funds were put at risk, and there was serious misconduct and/or mismanagement by the former trustees". linkThis is not the first time Care4Calais has come under the spotlight: [March 2023] Care4Calais competence questioned - link[Aug 2021] Care 4Calais investigated by watchdog - link
[Jul 2017] Care4Calais more controversy - link
Isn't it about time the charity commission closed down this so called 'charity'?

The issues found weren't actually that serious but there's always this suspicion that it's a group whose members facilitate illegal migration. I suspect that's true but surely the real politik is even if that could be proved and they were closed down it would actually motivate even more sus groups to spring up. Care4Calais is getting over £2million a year from public donations, that must tell us something.

Charity starts at home, according to homeless charity Shelter, there are 270,000 homeless people in this country, yet charities and the government are spending £millions a day housing illegals. For the life of me, I don't understand what's gone wrong in this country. We have completely lost our moral compass.

True charity means helping people you might not like. Anything else is altruiam which is good but not the same thing.

The whole thing is corrupt on fundamental level. The country itself is being privately sold from under the feet of the residents. It's theft.

If people around you your fellow countrymen were struggling, and clearly with 270,000 homeless people in this country many are struggling, why would you ignore them in favour of people from another country?

Who says I would ignore them?

Who says I would ignore them? Our own needy and destitute are being ignored by the government and charities who are spending £billions on illegals from the EU.

Absurd, we spend ~£160B a year on welfare, ~£100B on unfunded state pensions, god knows how much was spent on energy subsidies and furloughs and you say the UK Government does nothing. Please get real.

Absurd, we spend ~£160B a year on welfare, ~£100B on unfunded state pensions, god knows how much was spent on energy subsidies and furloughs and you say the UK Government does nothing. Please get real. The fact remains, the government are spending £billions on people who entered this country illegally, while at least 270,000 people in this country are homeless. This is immoral. We have social problems enough without importing hundreds of thousands of illegals from the EU.

Look this is about Care4Calais (an organisation I have already slagged off) but taken literally you appear to be saying Brits should be banned from contributing to charities that benefit foreigners until there isn't one person left in the UK that's needy. Maybe you could clarify.

Maybe you could clarify. Given my input thus far I would have thought my position was crystal clear. However I will gladly clarify my position. It is, in my opinion, utterly immoral for the government or any UK agency or charity to provide £billions in aid various, to help immigrants in any EU state, or illegals in the UK regardless of any other concerns, but particularly since we have social problems enough without importing them from the 'safe' EU. I hope that's clear.

That's clear thanks but we were talking about charities.
