" A company contracted by the UK Home Office to manage hotels and other accommodation for asylum seekers increased its profits more than sixfold last year, with its three directors sharing dividends of almost £28m.
Clearsprings Ready Homes has a 10-year contract to manage asylum seeker accommodation in England and Wales, a mix of hotel accommodation that the Home Office says is costing it more than £5m a day, and shared housing.
Clearsprings boosted its profits from £4,419,841 to £28,012,487 to the year ending 31 January 2022, with dividends jumping from £7m to £27,987,262."

Dedicated capitalists amongst us here will be delighted at these glad tidings. The system is working as designed.

Government procurement does seem particularly inept. I wonder if these three directors are Tory party donors.
As we agreed before, rather than waste excessive money on delay and daft schemes like Rwanda, we should instead invest money in capacity to process claims far more quickly, both for the benefit of the state and for the claimants themselves. No tabloid headlines and votes to be gained by so doing though.

People are getting rich off the backs of these migrants, not only the people traffickers but hotels owners, why else would they be housing migrants, it wont be out of the goodness of their hearts, it will always come down to money.
The UK tax payers are funding these hotels who are charging three times the going rate to house these migrants, how many homeless UK people can walk in to hotels and demand the tax payers pay for their stay, these migrants who haven't done a days work in their lives in the UK are just waltzing in to the UK and getting everything for FREE, without paying a penny in to the UK tax system, do you realise how unfair that is.

And another one: The UK government has spent more than £1bn on contracts for surveillance technology to spot migrants crossing the English Channel. "“Every day, dozens of asylum seekers and refugees set off on the dangerous journey across the English Channel to reach British soil, but small boats and treacherous conditions mean many lives are in danger along the way. We are proud to be a partner of UK authorities in fighting this kind of illegal human traffic. Drones can identify humans in distress in a much faster way and help rescue teams”, said Paul Weeb, TEKEVER UK Managing director."ukdefencejournal.org.uk/britain-spends-1bn-on-drones-to-monitor-english-channel/
