Almost £10,000 of taxpayers’ money was spent on luxury VIP travel services for Nicola Sturgeon, new figures have shown. The costs were among more than £14 million of spending by Scottish civil servants on credit cards, which also included nail polish, yoga classes and a driving theory test for a staff member. Civil servants also purchased multiple copies of a book collection of Ms Sturgeon’s speeches with public funds. The £9,898 of spending on airport services for the former First Minister, who was arrested in June as part of an unrelated investigation into SNP finances, had not previously been disclosed by civil servants. The airport services are provided by a firm that promises to treat its clients “like royalty”. They offer to “whisk” customers through check-in and security, then to a VIP lounge and on to the “awaiting flight”. Michael Marra, Scottish Labour’s finance spokesman, said: “These are the spending habits of an arrogant and entitled government with no regard for taxpayers. The SNP frittered away public money on frivolous purchases and VIP treatment while services are stretched to breaking point. The Scottish Government proactively publishes ministers’ travel costs but appears to have kept the price of Sturgeon’s luxury airport treatment hidden. www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/08/08/nicola-sturgeon-snp-luxury-vip-travel-taxpayer-money/ The SNP are doomed, lol.

Doubt it, there are still congenital retards that will vote them back in, there are a number of comments that I read in Scottish newspapers that indicate a substantial part of the Scottish intelligentsia believe all this missing money is simply a Westminster plot to attack wee Nicola.
Their hatred of the English supersedes all else, especially any facts about SNP wrongdoing.

I have no doubt the SNP will survive, but it's going to take them years to get over this, and it's not over yet. Op Branchform an investigation into possible fundraising fraud and other financial irregularities was launched by the Scottish police in 2021, and is still ongoing. The longer it continues the more dirt is uncovered.

I have just randomly picked a comment from today's edition of The Herald, this person (and there are many like him) will enthusiastically vote for the SNP next time around, even if most of the leadership are in prison,

As of April 2023, 54% of adults in Scotland said they would not support Scotland being independent from the United Kingdom, compared with 46% who would support it. link

Funniest thing is that the SNP spent £4.19 on a copy of the party’s own independence white paper from 2014. Which considering that it can be downloaded for free from the Scottish government’s own website…

I'm not in the least be surprised, most of us on here knew what was going on in the SNP, there are millions still unaccounted for, they've just been helping themselves to tax payers money, and the people of Scotland are the biggest losers, as that money was meant for them, and if Sturgeon isn't charged with any wrong doing then the corruption goes well deeper than the SNP.

It is a pity that there are only a couple of us with voting rights in Scotland. Small minded, bitter, twisted, xenophobic are words that can be used about you. This £600,000 that you and your ilk are so concerned about is small beer compared to the millions frittered away by the Tories.

You knew did you? What 'millions' are unaccounted for? The only money that is not accounted for is the infamous £600,000. That sum was raised from donations, made by party members and ringfenced, raised specifically for a second referendum campaign. I was one of many who donated to the fund and I, for one, couldn't care if the money was diverted into funding election campaign. The SNP does not have the luxury of billionaires and multi millionaires or Trade Unions picking up the tab. I suppose you have evidence backing your scurrilous accusation that "they've just been helping themselves to tax payers money". Salmond was supposed to be guilty, was stabbed in the back by former colleagues and hung out to dry by media commentators. However, the people who saw ALL of the evidence decided he was NOT GUILTY on all but one charge, on which the case against him was NOT PROVEN. The attack on Sturgeon is another attack on high ranking Nationalists, in a vain attempt to demonise, and decimate, the cause. Hasn't worked so far. I'd wait for the outcome if I was you!!!

The annual Scottish Budget covers each financial year, which runs from 1 April until 30 March, with annual spending amounting to over £50 billion. The Scottish Budget for 2022 to 2023 has been set at £56.5 billion and a detailed breakdown of spending plans is available on the Scottish Government
£56 Billion to play around with ..... that sort of money would even turn me. ..... LOL

The SNPs short term future does not look too good. However what you have to ask yourself is this: what's the alternative for an Independence supporting voter? The vast majority are not going to vote Red or Blue Tory and as for the LDs, they are just a waste of space. Around 50% of the electorate want an Independent Scotland but, apathy caused by the lack of movement in furthering the cause, is one major reason the SNP has to fear the next GE. The 2017 election should have taught them a lesson: putting independence on the back burner is a turn off for many Independistas
