A Co-op store owner has claimed police will not investigate shoplifting offences unless: a) The theft is over £200. b) There is clear CCTV footage. c) The criminal's full name is known. In other words, the police cant be bothered policing. Perhaps they're too busy doing diversity and inclusion courses. Thing is, if a shop worker punched back in self defence I suspect the police would be there in seconds. link

It's not something they like to advertise.

This whole area and not just retail needs more scrutiny, the wealth of information captured and potentially used against the individual is massive and never mind private organisations alone who trusts this being used by govt whether local or national I wouldn’t trust any off them. People need to realise where all this is going and how it can be used against them,it’s also where the ideas of lefty righty arguments need to be left behind, organisations such as Liberty which would normally be described as lefty on here are essential to protect the rights of the individual. We are being tracked 24/7 not just by retail but by anpr systems and online too,I don’t trust it’s use by govt or private sector and when it’s being actively advocated by Blair and his foundation even less. Look at how Farage was targeted,I suspect at the mention of his name people would laugh or dismiss it out of hand but it really is of concern whether you are left right or anywhere between.

Look at how Farage was targeted,I suspect at the mention of his name people would laugh or dismiss it out of hand but it really is of concern whether you are left right or anywhere between. I mentioned a while back that supermarkets hold more information on people than anyone realises, and this information is extremely valuable. More than 20 million people have a Tesco clubcard, to get a store loyalty card you must hand over you name, full postal address, email and phone number. The supermarket then have a very detailed record of who you are, where you live, the times and dates you visit the supermarket, how much you spend, and what you buy. The next time you're in a supermarket, look up, you may be surprised at the number of cctv cameras that are recording your movements and your face as you go through the checkout, and your car registration number as you enter and leave the carpark. Data collection is big business these days and few companies have embraced it as successfully as supermarkets, particularly Tesco. By the way, I read an article a while back about the possibility of supermarkets selling this information to the NHS and insurance companies so people's lifestyles and eating habits could be monitored. As far as I'm aware it hasn't happened yet, but who knows.
