Hated by the work shy and those who thought the world owed them. Thatcher would, by now, likely have modified some of her ideas — right at the time for dragging the country out of the mire it was in — but unfortunately carried on by less bright beings when they were no longer necessary...

Thatcher changed her mind on global warming when the bankers who controlled her pointed out how expensive it would be to reduce CO2 output. She cared more about the economy than the environment. She was also the grandmother of globalism. Preferring to import cheap Chinese coal so she could close down British mines.

Thatcher didn’t dispute everything to do with climate change and global warming, she just took a more pragmatic approach — as Sunak is doing today. Her ideas of lessening the power of the miners came from their forcing the Heath government into three-day week.
Diminishing the power of the trades unions gave the UK a chance to develop a workable industrial strategy. Shame it was all squandered…
