I doubt anyone will be surprised. It's hardly a secret that since the end of colonialism Africa has become a hotbed of corruption and Nigeria is arguably the worst offender. It's how they do business.

This is a rather odd affair. Evidently this character laundered his ill-gotten gains through unnamed institutions in London and was jailed in the UK for earlier infractions in 2012.
However the current Nigerian president doesn't seem very bothered - not hard to imagine why - and Ibori is evidently still at large in Nigeria.
So why was this case brought in London, and by whom?
