The director of the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) ordered staff to remove two LGBT-themed books from its children’s branch because they were “age inappropriate”. Tristram Hunt, who took up the role in 2017, told staff to remove the two titles from its shop a week before it was reopened by the Princess of Wales on June 28. The former Labour shadow education secretary also asked staff to take down a poster on display, which was produced by Stonewall, the charity, and read: “Some People Are Trans.
