She should be fined and warned next time a custodial sentence beckons. She should also be advised her actions are putting peoples lives at risk as without energy they can't heat their homes or cook or get to hospital. If she can find better energies for cheaper she should investigate and advise else the mental hospital beckons. That would be taking personal responsibility and engaging actions concurrent with her stances. Her first step would be to get the physical science qualifications / expertise needed to make a contribution. In Greta's case, this would probably mean essentially restarting her education. It's far simpler to sit about with a disproving look on your face and intermittently complain about everyone else.

Her job is to keep the issue in the foreground and not let governments kick it down the road again and again.

That's what nagging personality types tell themselves to stem the feelings of worthlessness. She is doing nothing but gathering virtue points and looking in the mirror.

Strange how things you feel strongly about are not due to your feelings of worthlessness.

Why doesn’t an eminent scientist do that job ?

Who gave Nelson Mandela his job? Or mother Theresa.

If I (say) did sit ins at grocers for reform that would essentially forbid all UK external trade, regardless of the likely dire consequences, on the basis that migrants use the trade to enter the UK - then you would have case for some kind of symmetry.. Luckily such lunatics don't exist - Part of the magic of people like Greta is that their demands can't be folded into a civilised compromise, so they get to nag, whine, blame and gift their entire lives and never have to face the inner void.

If you think that Greta Thunberg 1 gave HERSELF the job of the face of net zero 2 can be compared with Mandela then you are debating from a point of delusion and ignorance . Mother Theresa was a wicked bastard who hob nobbed with some very nasty rich men and built up a great deal of wealth but denied pain killers to those in her care .

It must be the first scientific field where a child having a tantrum is looked up to.

It must be the first scientific field where a child having a tantrum is looked up to. That’s the nub of it . The government missed a trick here during the covid crisis . Instead of rolling out experts to advise the public they could have used a slightly autistic child that looked like Beryl the peril to insist that we stay indoors .

What makes your version of her right and mine wrong? I have watched interviews with her an d I see nothing of the girl you describe. I see only an intelligent young lady trying to get people to recognise climate change. She even refuses to discuss some issues as she knows that she's a trigger for some people. Either way she chose to give up the life of a teenage girl and spend the precious youth travelling around the world talking to politicians.

Comparing Greta with Mandela and Mother Theresa was a clue . Claiming that a child made herself the face of net zero is another one.
