I've visited the Island twice - once to take part in a film festival, and then to work on a movie. The Festival was okay - I got to spend an evening with Mickey Rooney (which was certainly an experience), but the film production was a truly miserable few weeks. One of the actors (actually a keen motorcyclist himself, ironically), during a drunken evening bemoaning the lack of ANYTHING to do there (this is not a place to visit for it's cultural offer, or fine dining, or stunning scenery, or beautiful architecture, or intellectual discourse - the list goes on..) spoke for everyone involved: "This is the most BORING place I've ever been - and I grew up in PERTH!" where’s the LOL emoticon when you need it Hang on. Was that Perth Scotland or Perth Australia ??

Why would somebody spend their entire existence screaming hate all of the time on forums, because their vote wasn't the winning cast. All day, everyday, year after year. Is it just the attention? The encouragement from likeminded fascists? Anonymous donations? There should have been counseling set up for the losers the remoaners. It's clear it's psychologically disturbed some of them, you only have to look at some of the posts on here, it's sad really that they've let this take over their lives, they've taken it personally.
Any one would think it's them and us, when in reality it's all of 'us', we are all in this together, now they need to focus on the future, move on, stop being stuck in the past, and embrace Brexit, get behind it, and let's jolly well move on.

Then you and they failed to look. Peel castle looks like a good day out. Castle Rushen looks interesting too. Certainly do,there’s the laxey wheel, snaefell mountain where on a clear day you can see England,Ireland,Scotland and wales. One of the oldest parliaments, excellent food I’ve stayed in Port Erin lovely place and plaice which was more or less straight out of the sea the various fish dishes, local breweries all provided good food and drink and as said it is a safe place. So much more,Ithink Walt and his friends were hungover.

Since the forum functions as a refuge for those with no life and severe psychological trauma, as a result of losing the EU referendum all those years ago, then the rest of us really do not belong here.

So much more,Ithink Walt and his friends were hungover. Castles - Check (nothing particularly unusual or interesting about them). Big Wheel Thingy - Check. Half a hour taken care of. Railway Museum - Check. Charming enough, but small and half closed when we visited. Snaefell - Check. It was raining. Mannanam Museum - Closed. The food offer was, I guess, okay. If you want to celebrate the end of rationing, that is. Very much a 1950s English diet. There were a couple of Indians that wouldn't last a week in any mainland city. Beer? I guess. I'm more a cider or wine chap, personally - and there was usually a bog standard draught cider available, so that was okay. Any live music on offer in Douglas seemed to be solely Rock, Heavy Metal, or Queen Tributes. I can't stand Rock, Heavy Metal, or Queen Tributes. On day one, I called in at a newsagent to see only tabloids, Mail, and Express. "Have you got the Independent or Guardian?" I asked. "Sorry - we don't get any call for them.." Like I said. A little slice of heaven for the Farages of this world.

The Manfrog has said he might have to leave the UK because of his banking problems. Where do people think he will go? I thought I'd seen some stupid polls but it must be said, this one takes the biscuit.

You don’t know there are several Michelin stars restaurants? restaurants using local produce fish straight out of the sea, couldn’t make it out of Douglas? no news papers? Is this one of your scripts? i.e.fiction there’s a WH Smith’s in Douglas Waterstones I have a relative with a fair sized business there and there’s the financial sector,I think you’ll find all the msm papers available. Been to IOM often, great place and lots to see and do if you can be bothered.

You don’t know there are several Michelin stars restaurants? restaurants using local produce fish straight out of the sea, couldn’t make it out of Douglas? Went to two of them (perhaps the only Starred eateries there in 2005?). Small portions, way overpriced, and pretty ordinary. (I actually end up eating quite regularly - at least bimonthly, if I'm around - at a Starred restaurant around here. I don't rate that one, either. Micro portions, hovering, snooty, staff, and the personal pet hates of "deconstructed food" smears of sauce (or "jus". Pardon me..), and chips (probably listed in the menu as "sautéed potato batons") that come as a pitifully small game of Jenga.) By the end of a five-week stay, people were craving a good meal that WASN'T either European, or seafood. ..there’s a WH Smith’s in Douglas Waterstones I have a relative with a fair sized business there and there’s the financial sector,I think you’ll find all the msm papers available. This was only a small, local, newsagent - as I said. Obviously, after day one, I just had the hotel get me a daily paper. I like to do a crossword with my brekkers.

Course, he can, Borky. Just as he can go to any bank he wants (except the 7 who have already turned him down).

Been to IOM often, great place and lots to see and do if you can be bothered. Walter Paisley has been peddling his brand of Leftist WOKE fiction on this forum for a while now. (Plus ça change??) I had a feeling his narrative on the IOM was fishy when he claimed an exclusive island of tax-exiles and millionaires couldn’t wrestle up one copy of the Independent and Guardian between them!🙄 Mind you, will pretentious arty types who normally don’t crawl out of bed long gone past 1pm in the afternoon on their days off, find any paper of choice at that hour? As for being unable to find entertainment to match the taste of a spoilt Londoner … what does he expect? …. As for Mickey O’Rorke … I thought heavy metal tribute bands were ideal for the rebel rouser?? Box ticked! … well done IOM.
