🤣 … true…. In the past … but the EU forced Switzerland to flush out all the tax-dodgers storing their embezzlements in Swiss bank accounts … so many dodgy geezers that Farage complained about haunting the corridors of the EU Commission buildings … suddenly had to move all their money to the Caribbean and Panama! Having partly crippled the Swiss Banking Industry …. they repeatedly failed to bully them to join the EU. THE Swiss vote told the EU to ‘go swivel’ …. maybe funding a tunnel and presenting a Satanic opening ceremony … pushed them away! I don’t recall Farage having any convictions to classify him as a ‘dodgy bastard’ … wasn’t he the man who blew the whistle on many corruptions in the EU Parliament and steered us away from that dodgy mob?? … It was the other way round - the EU told Switzerland to go swivel. Switzerland wasn't prepared to extend full workers' rights to EU citizens, so they were told to get lost. Nope. The EU were trying to bully the Swiss. The EU's initial bilateral trade agreements left Switzerland too independent and flexible and as such Switzerland wasn't brought to heel be the EU's hegemony and they rejected the EU's one of the EU's shoddy "overarching treaties, pretty much like Mercosur did, and Australia for that matter.

EU citizens have no entitled right to claim benefits in Switzerland as part of a trade agreement. They've seen what it has done to the rest of Europe no doubt, and they also want their own citizen's wages protecting. No wonder the EU struggles to get trade deals over the line when they demand FoM for their people as some sort of entitlement. Fuck that.

The EU is the biggest trading block in the world, so they can afford to be choosy about who they deal with.

Clearly, the demand the EU had for Switzerland wasn't good enough to prevent the Swiss abandoning negotiations and walking away. Same with Mercosur and all their other trade deals that fail to materialise. They're seen as not worth the effort anymore.

Yeah, a trading block with a population of almost 750 million didn't want to do a deal with a country of 8 million people if it meant compromising EU citizens' rights. The EU can tell anyone it wants to piss off. It has a massive internal market. If it can tell the US to get lost, it can certainly tell a minnow like Switzerland where to stick it.

And most trading nations tell it to fuck off these days, just as little Switzerland did. lol

As I said, if it can tell the US to fuck off, it can certainly do that to 'little' Switzerland with its population of 8 million. The EU would like all the trade deals it can get. But its primary focus is on streamlining trade between its 27 nations, and protecting its citizens rights. If the Swiss want to be the Saudi Arabia of Europe with sod all rights for immigrant workers, then they will be told to get lost. And they were.

As usual, you like to have the last word and talk bollocks. It was the Swiss that abandoned talks because it didn't want to hand over an entitlement only its citizens have. The EU just dumps its cheap labour on markets like the Chinese dumps its steel. And the Swiss said, fark that! Who could blame them - only you!

The EU wasn't prepared to let its citizens be treated in the same way as Saudi Arabia treats its migrant workforce. The EU offer was full rights or nothing. That's all that was on the table. The Swiss didn't want that, and the EU wasn't prepared to compromise. It can afford to walk away, what with having an internal market of more than 750 million and all. Back to the subject at hand: where do you think the Manfrog will go if he decides to take his fake victim-posturing to the next level?

Fucking silly poll. Nigel Farage is staying in the UK. Well, he did say he'd leave if Brexit failed, Iggy. By rights, he should have left years ago. Now, he says he is being chased out. Or hadn't you heard?

I've visited the Island twice - once to take part in a film festival, and then to work on a movie. The Festival was okay - I got to spend an evening with Mickey Rooney (which was certainly an experience), but the film production was a truly miserable few weeks. One of the actors (actually a keen motorcyclist himself, ironically), during a drunken evening bemoaning the lack of ANYTHING to do there (this is not a place to visit for it's cultural offer, or fine dining, or stunning scenery, or beautiful architecture, or intellectual discourse - the list goes on..) spoke for everyone involved: "This is the most BORING place I've ever been - and I grew up in PERTH!" Then you and they failed to look.

Why would somebody spend their entire existence screaming hate all of the time on forums, because their vote wasn't the winning cast. All day, everyday, year after year. Is it just the attention? The encouragement from likeminded fascists? Anonymous donations?
