As if anyone needed convincing that ACM Mike Wigston was a disgrace to the service... As well as the original plan I'm also somewhat disappointed that: 'none of the RAF's senior leadership, including his predecessor Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston, on whose watch this happened, would face any kind of sanction.'
I'd put money on heads rolling if it was found that the discrimination was directed at ethnic minority applicants - but as the victims were just white men...  |

There is no such thing as "positive discrimination" only discrimination, which is illegal. Hire the best person for the job, whatever colour they are. That is the case. We hire the best runners who are usually black, we hire the best scientists who are over represented by Jews, we fund the most likely businesses and unfortunately that is rarely a black owned one. The question is why and I would think that 'racism' plays a part by making assumptions about a black entrepreneur and his abilities. I am unclear why that is wrong as we assess privilege based on skin colour, we assess a preponderance to be racist based on skin colour, we assess historical guilt based on skin colour and we base historical victimhood based on skin colour. If we wish to remove people making assessments based on skin colour we should do it across the board if racism is a moral concern. |

This mirrors a new Supreme Court ruling in the United States on the issue of Positive Discrimination in universities. Universities in the US have been openly discriminating against white and Asian applicants for years,.
I wonder can the RAF be sued?

I think it's more a case of the MoD quietly paying compensation to white people who have been discriminated against, as the police do.
