I'm sure that the undisclosed £squillions in compo and endless free publicity will soften the blow for Nige. Squillions? Where did you get that figure? According to Google, damages for breach of the Data Protection Act are available for material losses and distress. Farage hasn't suffered any material losses. So, his entitlement under that head is zero. He will have to sue for distress, in that case. What sum do you think he will be entitled to for distress? According to Google, the average award for distress caused by unfair dismissal is £13,000. Do you think Farage suffered more distress than someone who was unfairly dismissed from their job and left with no means of support? I should have thought he would receive less than £13,000. And that even that amount would be reduced because the bank issued an apology. Indeed, your post suggests that, far from being distressed, the manfrog will be delighted by 'free publicity'. Given that litigators rarely recover the full legal costs of their action, would it even be worth his while suing? I don't claim to know about this area of law. The above could be incorrect. You appear to know something, though. At least, your claim that he is entitled to 'squillions' suggests that you do. So, what is the basis of your belief that he will collect 'squillions'? From my admittedly uninformed view, it looks like he will get less than £13,000. I think every Remainer will agree that it would have been worth 10 times that to see him repeatedly described as a 'disingenuous grifter' in the news. You've overlooked their lies 'defamation of character' lawsuit.
What was the largest libel settlement in the UK? Elton John v The Sun, 1989: £1m settlement – UK
The Independent's 1993 story recalling the episode described the settlement as “the biggest pay-out in newspaper libel history”.
... Nige will be bigger than that ^^ ....LOL

The poster wasn't racist.
Men of fighting age had already carried out terrorist attacks in France and Belgium and it was perfectly clear that he was talking about the complete failure of the EU to do anything about terrorists filtering through and huge numbers of illegal immigrants crossing the EU.
One year after the poster, a man of fighting age carried out a suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert. Some of the victims were children.
What are you more outraged about, Islamist terrorists, or a poster which warned about the very loopholes those terrorists exploited?

LOL! Neither Nigel Farage nor Boris Johnson can succeed in a libel suit based on the claim that someone called them a liar. In order to win that case, Farage would have to demonstrate that he is not a liar, not only in the very specific circumstances of this case, but generally. Libel is like theft. You steal someone's good reputation. If that person didn't have a good reputation in the first place, it is impossible to steal it from them. That is the law. Good luck to the manfrog!!!

The brothers who planned and committed the Manchester bombing were not refugees. Legally speaking they are/were as British as you.

...and Barclay's share price has dropped by 4.9% according to a link dropped earlier in the conversation. Correlation is not causation. I'm not making a correlation between Barclays and NatWest. I am pointing out that going woke has cost NatWest £600 million, so far. linkThat the apparently right-wing NatWest are getting their bank account felt is of some pleasure to me.

Coutts closed Nigel Farage's accounts because his views did not 'align with its purpose and values', internal documents revealed last night. The former Ukip leader said the 40-page dossier detailing the bank's discussions about him showed it was lying about the reason he was dropped
The CEO clearly lied to the BBC, she was the spokesperson for the Bank, Farage did not lie the bank did, and caused 'Defamation of Character'
"In a statement, the broadcaster said: "Because of this evidence, we have since changed the headline and the copy on the original online article about his bank account being shut for falling below the wealth limit to reflect that the claim came from a source and added an update to recognise the story had changed.

You can't sue someone for lying. If it was possible, Farage and Boris would be bankrupt. You can only sue someone for libel if that person has told a defamatory lie about you. You can't sue someone for telling the truth. The truth isn't defamation. When Coutts said that Farage is 'perceived to be a disingenuous grifter', they were telling the truth. He is perceived to be a disingenuous grifter. So, the bank can't be sued for that. But, maybe, you have another statement made by the bank in mind. If so, let us know what it is.

Oh yes indeed, he has made it perfectly clear that he is not stopping with the resignation of Alison Rose, he wants the board and good luck to him, and yes he should sue.
