Surely that rather depends on what the facts are? Coutts said they cancelled Farages accounts because he didn't have the required minimum balance of £3 million. They have since backtracked on this and said they cancelled his bank accounts, and those of three of his family members, because he didn't meet Coutts values. It's quite obvious this is a politically motivated act of spite that Coutts and Alison Rose are now regretting. Just listened to an ex Coutts employee who said the bank has about 100,000 customers, and the vast majority of them do not have the minimum balance of £3 million. Every day more and more people are comming out in support of Farage. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't sue.

We'll see.
At the moment the bank are prevented from saying what they would like to say by confidentiality rules. Which allows Farage free reign to make up whatever he wishes to. If he sues, the playing field is levelled. Not sure that is what Farage wants. What he wants is to play the infamy infamy they've all got it in for me game again.
Just to be clear, if Farage was dumped just because of his political beliefs, I would agree that would be outrageous, odious little man that he is. I suspect that is not the full story.
Lets see how this develops.

Hell, even the govenernment are now looking at urgent legislation to prevent more of the same.

Lets see what the facts are if/when they emerge. The public only knows one side of the story.

Surely that rather depends on what the facts are? Coutts said Farage was a xenophobic racist. I somehow doubt they would relish the thought of standing up in court and defending that accusation.

Indeed, after Sunak's intervention at the despatch box yesterday the Treasury will announce measures as soon as next week, which is unbelievably quickly, to stop banks acting like this. In picking on Farage Coutts fucked up big style.

Even the government aren't happy.

Government's wanting to attract votes from GB Newswatchers love jumping on an outrage bandwagon that costs them nothing, especially with elections nearing.
Lets see what facts emerge.

LOL, want a laugh? Listen to this... It's just been revealed that the Italian Mafia laundered £200 million through Coutts, and Chilean dictator General Pinochet was among Coutts customers. Yet Farage doesn't meet Coutts values lol. People are digging up all sorts of stuff about Coutts.

Just heard an interesting snippet. Apparently Coutts may be about to apologise to Farage, no doubt more to follow...
Yes indeed, it seems chief executive of NatWest Group Alison Rose will shortly, within the next hour or so, make a formal apology to Farage.

Yet Farage doesn't meet Coutts values lol. People are digging up all sorts of stuff about Coutts. Ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha. Telegraph report extract: Jon Sopel has apologised for mocking Nigel Farage over the closure of his Coutts account, which has increased pressure on the BBC to address its handling of the story.
Mr Sopel, who was the corporation’s North America editor until 2021, said earlier this month that Mr Farage “must feel like a bit of a Charlie” after the BBC reported his account was closed for financial, rather than political, reasons.
But after The Telegraph revealed Coutts cited differing “values” as a contributing factor to the account closures, Mr Sopel wrote: “Dear Nigel, always believed when I get things wrong, I own up to it.
“I got it wrong. Sorry. That will teach me to trust reporting of my old employer. If your political views were even part of the reason why account was suspended from Coutts that is totally reprehensible.”
Mr Farage replied: “Jon, Thank you so very much for those words. I fully accept the apology and wish you well. As broadcasters we now have a duty to fight for free speech for our viewers and listeners.”
