Meanwhile the loony left say things like: Whilst the next thing they type is #bekind on Twitter. I think most of them are obviously suffering some kind of trauma, there is probably some medical explanation.

Coutts are still saying the closing of Farage's account was a business decision. That they were going to close it in a few years when his mortgage ended because he didn't meet the other financial criteria, but that he surprised them by paying off his mortgage early and so the bought forward the closure. They say that they do consider customer behaviour, but only in respect to any economic damage such behaviour might cause. As far as I'm concerned this is no different to Pepsi deciding to withdraw advertising for 'political' reasons. They are businesses and vulnerable to public opinion. Should everyone be entitled to a bank account, that's a different question. Welcome aboard, Zany. Comrade Monte and I have been telling them that for a week now. They don't care. They can understand why Bud Light might drop a transgender woman from their advertising campaign because to continue would be harmful to their brand, but they're incapable of understanding why Coutts might feel that way about a 'disingenuous grifter'. Although I do know what you mean, if you came in to a bit of money and opened a account there, it would put me off.

I see Gina the Remoaner is trying to jump on this bandwagon saying she’s been debanked too. Is their no depth that woman will not plumb to try and ride Nigel’s PR successes ? Careful John, you are going off script. This isn't supposed to be about a couple of grifters exploiting the situation for personal promotion. You should be supporting Ms Miller because this is about freedom of speech or something. Never mind the fact that Mr Farage has has had more freedom of speech in the last week than he's had in quite a while. Actually what we are learning is that banks act in their own self-interest, who knew?

In the days before the electronic transfers we have today you didn’t sign a high value cheque you rang Coutts and within an hour a motorcycle courier arrived with a bankers order. I saw it myself at HR Owen the Ferrari (and other posh cars too) dealer at Canary Wharf my pal was their PR man and this is how the head of the Docklands Development Corporation paid his deposit on his new car. Just having the voice on the phone say ‘the courier was on their way’ was the ultimate in credit worthiness. These days anyone can have that at the drop of a hat and a nod and a wink from the smartphone. Is there still ‘prestige’ to be had for having such an account ? I no longer move in such circles and cannot say.

Millar’s right to a bank account (which is of course more than her pals think he should have) 😂😂

It's like a lot of things you are just paying for the name, it's a snobbery thing, you aren't getting any better service, basically you're a first class NatWest customer under the guise of Coutts, it's so they can sit around name dropping their exclusive Coutts bank, a glorified NatWest customer.

So its not just our banks and political figures , but seems like much of the posion that affects the western world to be emanating from over in yank land......

The Banks would cancel Trump if they could, but it will cost them more than it is worth, in more ways than one.

Thank Banks would cancel Trump if they could, but it will cost them more than it is worth, in more ways than one. I think they would. Is it just me , or are more and more noticing anti democratic measures coming into play and erosion of civil liberties gaining pace across the western world?
worrying times. When are ordinary people going to stand up to these anti democratic bullies ? I dread to think of the erosion of our rights and liberties under a new labour starmer government .

Now, let's have another recap: Nigel's business accounts were shut down for non-banking reasons. Because someone on the board disliked his politics (or perhaps was under undue influence from a political opponent?). That should be illegal. And soon will be. I wonder what the prospects of forcing a business to accept a client who causes them reputational damage are. About a squillion to one? And still considerably less than appointing an incompetent board.

No it's not just you tom, I think most of us know the Trump/Biden presidential campaign was rigged, there is no way on this planet that sleepy/creepy Joe won that election fair and square, it was done right under our very noses, when it's on levels of that scale it's probably gone too far already. I can't even say with the banks let's 'nip it in the bud' in the UK, it's already in full flourish here, how deep it's been infiltrated in our society is quite scary to be honest.

Isn't there a bank that deals exclusively in Nazi gold? My squillions are headed to the COOP comrade. I took them out of Coutts as soon as I heard they were associated with a disingenuous grifter. So did loads of others when Alison Rose was outed. Just look at the share price now. Go woke, go broke

Just look at the share price now. Go woke, go broke Yes let's see how many shareholder care about Farage politics, once they see their shares dropping like a lead balloon they'll soon turn on the establishment, I mean was Farage really worth costing the bank £600,000,000.
