The BBC has been accused of bowing to pressure from Sadiq Khan over its reporting of London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez). According to a leaked message, an editor at the BBC said that any stories on the controversial scheme had to be escalated to senior levels for sign-off because of an “outstanding complaint” from Mr Khan. Under the Ulez scheme, vehicles that fail to meet emissions standards are required to pay £12.50 every day to travel within a restricted zone. Mr Khan’s plan to expand it in August to cover all of London’s 32 boroughs has proved contentious and is likely to be a major dividing line in next May’s mayoral election. A member of staff at the BBC has now leaked an email to Howard Cox, mayoral candidate for Reform UK and long-term leader of the campaign group FairFuelUK. www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/06/24/bbc-running-scared-ulez-sadiq-khan-leaked-messages/He knows it's a vote loser so he doesn't want the BBC to mention it. What a greasy little left wing toerag Khan is.

What a greasy little left wing toerag Khan is. Here yet again Red the lefty arsehole pissed another £3.2m of taxpayers money against the wall......He probably had an interest in it no doubt this prick gets more pathetic by the day and he has some serious personal issues too...Aw never mind sadistic kahnt, i still have the sound, smell, feel of my V6, 2.9 fire breathing, gas guzzling beast of an engine to console me after hearing this news...my heart bleeds gasoline!
Sadiq Khan's green fund loses £3.2m of taxpayer cash after electric car firm Breathe that supplied Tesla motors to private-hire drivers collapsed into administration
Breathe operates a subscription service letting customers buy their electric cars Funds were pledged by Mayor of London's Energy Efficiency Fund 15 months ago
Sadiq Khan's green fund could lose millions of pounds of taxpayer's cash after an electric car firm it invested in collapsed into administration.
The company, called Breathe, supplies electric vehicles to a range of customers from Tesla motors to private-hire drivers and had £3.2m injected into it by the Mayor of London's Energy Efficiency Fund (MEEF).
The funds were pledged by MEEF just 15 months ago, but earlier this week insolvency practitioners from Begbies Traynor were appointed as administrators, Sky News reports.
Breathe operates an EV service allowing customers to take full ownership of their car at the end of a subscription period.
The firm's website continues to advertise its work with the Mayor of London to reduce CO2 emissions and clean up the city's air.

...vehicles that fail to meet emissions standards are required to pay £12.50 every day to travel within a restricted zone... I think it's worth pointing out that the so-called emissions standards are ones that Khan has arbitrarily made up for his own purposes. Most of the supposedly "Non compliant" vehicles are still perfectly compliant with national MOT emissions standards and Khan's own figures show that the ULEZ expansion will have negligible impact on outer London air quality. And of course as soon as everyone owns a “Compliant” vehicle Khan will simply shift the goalposts again. ULEZ is a con to tax those that can least afford it. How very left wing.

It is indeed a con, but it will net Tfl £300 million a year and I think we all know that's got a lot to do with it. Most conservative Mayoral candidates seem to be making a big play of getting rid of Ulez, I suppose time will tell. www.londonworld.com/news/traffic-and-travel/ulez-where-do-the-conservatives-potential-mayoral-candidates-stand-on-sadiq-khans-clean-air-scheme-4145692

ULEZ opponents furious as Sadiq Khan is given award for expansion plan and 'efforts to improve public health'
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has been awarded a prestigious fellowship in recognition of his efforts to improve public health, including the introduction of the capital's ultra low emission zone (ULEZ). But this comes in the face of criticism of the planned expansion of the scheme at a time when Londoners' finances are stretched.
The UK Faculty of Public Health announced the Mayor's award of its honorary fellowship this morning (Tuesday, June 27). The highest category of FPH membership, the award is given to those "who have made exceptional contributions towards improving the health of the public and/or improving the practice of public health".

Tbh Jonksy, a meaningless award from a London based left wing charity is the only sort of award Khan has any chance of winning.

Tbh Jonksy, a meaningless award from a London based left wing charity is the only sort of award Khan has any chance of winning. His policies are not agreed with the people of London they are derived and agreed in a C40 cities group whereby "C40 is a network of nearly 100 mayors of the world’s leading cities who are working to deliver the urgent action needed right now to confront the climate crisis and create a future where everyone, everywhere can thrive. Mayors of C40 cities are committed to using a science-based and people-focused approach to help the world limit global heating to 1.5°C and build healthy, equitable and resilient communities." What the people of London want is not on the agenda, he is working to a different programme within which the people of London are but pawns in the grand game of statesmanship that many politicians seem to aspire to irrespective of what their electorates wish.

That's interesting, I was unaware of this 'C40' network. So Khan, the mayor of London, is on a global mission that doesn't seem to include the people of London! To be perfectly honest, that seems to be in line with the governments net zero plans, for the time being at least.
