Mohammed Nazam, mayor of Keighley in West Yorkshire, joined locals in hoisting up an LGBTQ+ Progress flag in Bradford Town Square on June 16. But less than 24 hours later, the councillor on Bradford City Council apologised for his involvement in the ceremony. He told members of Keighley Pakistanis that this ‘lapse of judgement’ caused ‘disappointment and hurt’. ‘It is my hope that the people within our community can find it in their hearts to forgive me for this lapse in judgment’. Any ‘elected Muslim representative’ attending an LGBTQ+ event, he said, would need to apologise to the Muslim community. metro.co.uk/2023/06/20/bradford-mayor-resigns-after-apologising-for-attending-lgbtq-event-18982316/If a white Brit, a none Muslim, had apologised for attending an LGBTQ event and resigned, I think it's a given he would be shouted down as a hate filled nazi etc etc and would be exiled by the righteous and woke media. It almost makes you wonder whether Pakistani Muslims come under British law at all...

Almost every mainstream religion recognises homosexuality as a sin. How they can support a celebration of that sin is a bit difficult to explain, even though we are all sinners. We don't celebrate most sins, do we? Let's have a pride in shoplifting parade.

Given the area in which he is/was Mayor, it does seem more than a little naive to think that having a foot in both camps, or trying to placate everyone was even the remotest of possibilities. Sufficiently lacking in judgement to remain as Mayor, and his resignation was probably the wisest solution given the mess he'd got himself into.

This is one square "liberal-progressives" will never be able to circle.
The more these two groups jostle for who the bigger victim is in identity politics - of which both demand unquestionable subservience to their respective faith and ideology, the more the two will collide.

I'm a bit surprised that this mayor couldn't get away with this. Muslims in positions of authority over the Kuffar can usually justify this sort of thing as necessary to fit into the Kuffar society. It's called taqiyya.

The LARGELY Zionist owned MSM Press has stirred up hatred for minority groups by pushing LGTBQ extremists behaving badly down everyone’s throats … it was a deliberate policy … to create conflict with rising religious fascism.
… now bullying in schools is 2,000x worse thanks to this Media Programme and Pride bollox.
Mind you, this over-reaction shows Religious Groups are not fit to hold high Office, VOTE or run our Media.
Time to address that … and bring a sharp STOP to muslim immigration … and implement some serious fast track deportation for the worst ‘haters’ that jumped the queue and weren’t vetted properly.

Replacing him with a white Mayor not bullied by religious extremism … is the best choice for Keighley, Yorkshire.
