The vote yesterday was held to basically approve the recommendations of the Parliamentary Committee findings and their recommended penalty to punish Boris, a full vote was called after Labour objected to adopting the report unanimously, forcing MPs to put their position on the record
Every single MP right across the entire House was free to vote or not vote their personal decision
They were not voting for or against Legislation or anything else, therefore no threat at all to Democracy whatsoever

If every Prime Minister breaks rules, breaks the law, lies to Parliament, are you then saying that it would not be a threat to our democracy. Attachments:

Of course not saying that , simply pointing out that there was no danger to our democracy in this case because Boris had already been investigated and found to be in Contempt of of Parliament. it was a simple vote to support or not support the recommended punishment for doing so, which the majority of those who did vote supported

Labour were a bit 'naughty' in forcing a vote but one can understand their motive. Those that voted against the motion were voting against a legitimate committee report based on fact.
