I have my reservations about Israel but don’t need a council to tell me anything,what with their nuclear free zones,traffic free zones,cycle lanes that are the size of a single motorway lane and cabinet positions! delusions of grandeur and often arrogant *****. A council should keep the street lights on empty the bins repair the roads provide public bogs and how good are they at this? we have central govt to formulate foreign policy and why do so many council chief execs get paid more than the PM? |

Assuming the story to be true, I’m not sure we buy anything from Israel.— admittedly, Morrisons at Stamford Hill has kosher and halal poduce, and we may get a few dates from those sections. Otherwise, Gove is wasting his breath…

Labour councils being anti-Semitic, well I never.
This country needs a proper Social Democratic party, because I haven't got a clue who Labour are actually supposed to represent, because it sure as shit isn't ordinary working people.
We all know why Democratic Socialists hate Israel... they hate Jews because they see them as the figure head of Capitalism. However, the normal people, the Social Democrats, don't give two shits about Israel. They want the focus to be on domestic issues.
Bizarre that the Tories are calling this out though, and not Sir Keir (I will not tolerate anti antisemitism) Starmer.

Those that do bother to vote in local elections do so for their local Council to deal with local issues nothing else, the Councils that are promoting and supporting a boycott on Israeli have done so without consulting the local people they represent
We do know that there are antisemites within the Labour Party some have been rightly thrown out, it matters not who they are in any party or the man on the No 6 bus, local Councillors have no remit to interfere in the affairs of another country, that is for the elected Government of the day to make decisions on not local Councillors
The number of attacks on Jews in the UK has risen also across the EU, some are that frightened they have emigrated to Israel as they feel safer there, even though they know Israel is attacked bombed almost every day, those that support this boycott are encouraging people to attack Jews here in the UK IMHO, they must be stopped.
