Boris Johnson failed to write to the appointments watchdog before starting a new newspaper column with the Daily Mail, it has emerged.
The Advisory Committee on Business Appointments (Acoba) said it had not received an application from Mr Johnson to clear a new job writing for the newspaper.
A spokesman for the committee said it would write to the former prime minister requesting clarity on the job, amid reports he will start a new column on Saturday.
On Friday morning, the Daily Mail said it would announce an “erudite new columnist who’ll be required reading in Westminster – and across the world”.

It does seem strange yet Bojo gets £115k aa a former PM along with security year and I expect they will find a way to block this if he does not cooperate.
