Never worked with her, but (obviously) a great admirer. Just a few weeks ago an old friend wrapped on what turns out to have been her last film.
Spoke with him last night, and he was shocked - there had been no indication.
To the end, her trademark "tin of sweets" had been on set. Glenda would turn up on day one with an enormous tin of boiled sweets to be left open for anyone who wanted one. When it was finished, there'd be another..
Both totally respected as an actor, and widely loved as a person - that's a rare trick to pull off.

She always came over as a warm caring person In my eyes.

A very sad loss. Brilliant actress and very (albeit sometimes painfully) honest politician.

Didn't have much in common with her, but she had principles, and I respect that.
A sad loss.
