Sunak has a large majority. Wasting too much effort strongly campaigning in (up to) tens of constituencies around the place is unlikely to look good. Tell Conservatives the chance of continuing in power depends on electors believing that the conservatives are dealing with the cost of living for them and the economy for the country.
Just let the by-elections run, put in the occasional appearance, and don’t worry if Labour, LibDems or others pick up seats, but concentrate on the economy — that’s what’s going to be worrying voters most…

The economy's fine. It's the cost of living crisis that's going to be the issue.
Not that Labour have a scooby about that.

Sunak's main interest is to what extent his involvement in British politics benefits India. He is acting out the meaning of his name ... Rishi means "A Hindu sage or saint". There is another Hindu MP who declined to take his oath on the Gita (which Rishi did). He was criticised by his Hindu constituents for not doing so ... and retorted: "I represent all my constituents ... not just Hindus." If a Christian had become Prime Minister and declared himself to be "A proud Christian" (Rishi said he is "A proud Hindu") there would have been a fuss. Blair was told to shut up about the fact that he was a Christian when talking about political matters.

Tiredness - is in my opinion a driving factor behind the slump in support for the Conservatives, the people are tired of Conservative government after 13 years in which no one can point to any major achievements.
During this last 13 years we started off with austerity and cuts, cuts to bus services, cuts to this and that, fewer police officers, pay freezes, pay cuts. Then we had Brexit, and a country torn apart by this divisive issue, and the country has never been the same since. Next came the Pandemic ( which no one can of course blame on the government ), but its a perception that the public have of life been turned upside down by austerity, Brexit, the Pandemic.
People just feel that things could be better than this, and according to all the polls, the electorate are prepared to let Labour run things.
With the pandemic came a lying, cheating Prime Minister, who broke the rules, followed close on by probably the most incompetent Prime Minister in British history. Today we are on the precipice of another recession, we currently have the lowest growth in Europe.
This is almost a repeat of 1997, there had been 18 years of Conservative rule, we had not long emerged from a financial crisis and recession, there was so called "Tory Sleaze", and people were fed up and wanted a change.
In the run-up to 1997 there were some spectacular By-election results for both Labour and the Lib Dems, it was a sign of what was coming.

Major achievements, helping Ukraine resist military invasion, rapid rollout of Covid vaccines, withdrawal from the EU, referendum on membership of the EU, gay marriage, referendum on the voting system, great repeal bill, scrapping of the failed Nimrod MRA4 project.

The problem is Sid that that you’re right people are fed up but of both tories and labour,I was a labour voter and there’s many like me who saw what that scumbag Blair did.
