Come the next election I sense Tory voters like me will vote conservative not because of Sunak or his policies, but because they see the Tories as the least worst option. What a sad indictment of British politics. I agree, very sad. Whilst us plebs keep voting for crap that is what we will get. Blue crap, red crap or yellow crap, we don't want them. We need a sea change in politics and it won't come by voting for the big 2 parties. If Boris forms a new party it will be interesting, but before voting for it, remember he got us where we are now.

Its interesting that the feeling we desperately need change has come off the back of 13 years of Tory leadership. As for Boris, I thought we wanted a change from popularist liars. I don't think you could get more popularist and dishonest than Boris. He apparently got Brexit done and yet we are still negotiating it and no one knows what to do about the Good Friday Agreement. And this latest set of lies, he clearly had loads of parties, and maybe his supporters don't care. But then if he doesn't think it was wrong why did he hide it and claim being found out is a witch hunt.

I think you're being a tad harsh on Boris. I didn't always agree with him, but overall I would prefer him in number 10 to Sunak. There's little doubt there has been a concerted behind the scenes campaign by the civil service no doubt fuelled by Labour to get rid of anyone who is considered to be right wing.

Perhaps the Tories are the architects of their own demise, they have after all been moving from the centre right to the centre ground since Cameron entered into coalition with Cleggy. Starmer has also moved Labour closer to the centre in an effort to distance himself from Corbyn. This has caused a blurring of political lines that were at one time very defined and has, in my opinion, turned people off politics. Never before has the phrase 'they're all the same' been truer. In order to get clear water between the parties we desperately need a Conservative leader who moves the party back to their traditional centre right ground. In my opinion it would pay dividends.

Desperately need change because of the tories?,perhaps but remember people were desperate for change because of Blair and what he did.

I think this deserves a thread of its own Red. It would be interesting to see want you mean by centre right and if its feasible. I will start one in the mind zone. Apologies if you feel limited there.
