Johnson is a buffoon who may have a tenuous connection to reality but he is no traitor. FFS they couldnt even find any evidence of him lying to parliament so the chances of finding anything that proves he is a traitor is zip. What would you call a minister of the crown 'slipping' his security detail, flying to Italy and meeting with a Russian ex KGB agent? What would you call a PM ennobles the son of an ex Russian KGB agent against the advice of the security services? There is no record of what they talked about and we all now know that Johnson has had some of his personal notebooks 'confiscated' by the cabinet office because they contain highly sensitive information. This is a non story.Lebedev was a spy decades ago. Then owner of the independent newspaper. Boris went to a party at his home in Italy, it was logged in members interests. Read it all here. www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jul/06/johnson-admits-to-private-meeting-with-ex-kgb-agent#:~:text=Boris%20Johnson%20has%20admitted%20for,when%20he%20was%20foreign%20secretary.

What evidence do you have that Evgeny Lebedev is a foreign agent? Did I say he was a foreign agent? I said he is the son of a Russian agent that the security services warned Johnson about.

Not at all and that is something else I did not say. I said Johnson overrode the UK security services and ennobled the son of a Russian spy. Johnson slipped his security detail and met a Russian KGB agent at a time when Russia had carried out a chemical attack in the UK.

What evidence do you have that Evgeny Lebedev is a foreign agent? Don't know who this is addressed to. If its me the answer is WAS a foreign agent and I know because he freely admits he was.

He does? - are you sure?. Got a link because I know his father used to be in the KGB but I'm not aware of Evgeny ever being part of it - especially as he has lived in this country since he was 8 years old.

Well I'm sure Johnson met a lot of dodgy people but I'm not clear on why that means he shouldn't give Evgeny Lebedev a peerage.

Do you not care about the security of the UK?

Do you not care about the security of the UK? His security detail doesn't sit in on meetings and vet what the PM is saying. They are there simply for protection - and as he walked away from the meeting it seems to have been pretty safe. Now back to Evgeny - why should he suffer because of what his father did?

His security detail does not sit in on meetings as you say but as foreign secretary at the time they should have been there for his and our protection. It was a private meeting with a known Russian spy and his advisors, part of his security detail, were not present. Johnson had just been to a NATO meeting discussing Russia and then flew off to meet a Russian spy, and that's OK for some people. Patriotism only seems to extend as far as sitting in front of a flag in some peoples minds. What would you say if Corbyn had been in the same position and done the same, that's how you test your honesty.

There is a difference between meeting someone and the decisions taken towards that person or country. Nobody can honestly claim that Johnson is in the pocket of Russia, so what exactly is the argument against meeting people who were involved in that regime in the past?
