Caroline Lucas quits as an MP to 'focus on the accelerating crises'
The Green Party’s only MP Caroline Lucas has announced she is standing down at the next election.
The 62-year-old, who was first elected to the House of Commons in 2010, said that she was leaving Parliament in order to focus on fighting climate change.
She said that representing the constituency of Brighton Pavilion had prevented her on campaigning more on "the nature and climate emergencies".
Lucas said that she had wanted to focus on being “first and foremost a good constituency MP".
In an open letter to her constituents, she said: “I’ve done everything possible to help wherever I can and always worked to ensure that people feel heard, that their concerns matter, and that they are not alone.

Policy … even when other useless MP’s are not in attendance … with just the Public and their letter writing protest to back him … he alone took the flak yet still managed to stop the Gov. jabbing children as young as 6 months. … A big 👏👏 for getting stuck in and being there to help stop enormously toxic Fracking damage to this country …. and it’s water supplies. …. but zero points for perpetuating some of the other myths that make up Green Policy that only snooty people in her income bracket can afford in their privileged lives. If she thinks she is going to be more effective sticking her tongue to the M25, denying the Green Party at least one member representative in this Parliament … she is sadly mistaken. Caroline Lucas has been a popular MP in Brighton and whoever follows her will have big shoes to fill.
I didn't realise she was that old, she looks very good for her age.

It's arguable where she does most damage - wittering on about net Zero in Parliament or wittering on about environmental issues outside Parliament. She's a very dangerous person in either case. I'm not sure if she's just stupid or if her intention is to destroy the economy of this country.
