It is the clubs choice to erect barriers to trade with countries outside of that club - non-members do not get a say. That is the rules of the club. Why would they give a member who has left the same access as a member? I'm not asking them to do anything - simply pointing out that they erect trade barriers to whoever they want. We have not erected any barriers to trade. |

The EU has decided that for good or bad they want an external tariff barrier around their market - that is a choice for them and bugger all to do with us. |

The political right are growing in Northern Europe and Italy, it will be interesting to see where this leads.
We don't actually need Europe for tech, we have the East, for food, if need be we can encourage grow your own and also use partners like Australia, US, Canada, and Africa.
We could also slap on tarifs for anything EU related yet we don't, we do however act as the most gung-ho outfit in Europe towards Russia.
There may come a time when we need to act in our own interest.
