There is footage of a motorcyclist avoiding the grasp of a protester as he attempted to move through the crowd (I.e. use the roads). I can't imagine what right these people felt they had to do this - they obviously had the internal belief they were engaging in some kind of legitimate stop Why hasn't that woke lefty daft woman been arrested? It's there for all to see she's accosting this innocent victim. Now that's an assault.

Sooner or later someone is going to get seriously hurt. "Later, a cyclist was seen grabbing the group’s signs and throwing them onto the side of the road." how was this chap 'inconvenienced'? I do hope so wonky as long as its one of the arseholes who are blocking our roads. If they all got killed it wouldn't matter.

Sooner or later someone is going to get seriously hurt. Which would be a point well made were it not for the fact ‘someone’ already has been. And i’m not referring to the allegation that someone’s mother died in an ambulance held up by their protest, which gave the outrageous piece of shit in charge of these bastards the airtime opportunity to say the cause was more important than a few deaths. No, i’m not going to refer to that because that only made it to socisl media The deaths of two women and the severe injury of a man who went to aid them however was broadcast by at least four proper newspapers. When two utter fucking arseholes closed the M25 bridge by climbing it, ambulance paramedics called to a crash in the thick of the chais in surrounding roads were logjammed and both women died. A man trying to help them was badly injured when a separate vehicle hit him As cited in all newspapers, these deaths and the man’s injuries were a direct consequence of the acts of these eco fuckwits. metro.co.uk/2022/10/21/just-stop-oil-accused-of-having-blood-on-their-hands-after-m20-crash-17610976/amp/If the metro is too tabloid for your taste you can read it in the telegraph from the day before but of course the lefty's favourite the gruniad is silent on the matter

Big bikes are heavy when they aren't moving. if that rider had lost control of the weight because of that stupid woman he might not have been able to stop it crushing her or pinning him. What I don't understand is why none of the vehicles don't nudge them out of the way. creep up at 2-3 miles an hour till they are touching then just gradually push while upping the speed very slowly.

Why not head down to Buckland Community Centre Malins Road Portsmouth PO2 7BT at 18:30 today - JSO are having an induction session - maybe head down there and hold 'a protest' of your own.

Why hasn't that woke lefty daft woman been arrested? It's there for all to see she's accosting this innocent victim. Now that's an assault. The lady assaulted the motorcyclist? What illegal act was committed by the demonstrators on the road? Is it public nuisance? I don't know anything about this area of law, but a very cursory google search found this article: www.britannica.com/topic/nuisanceThe article states: 'While a public nuisance, as such, is actionable only by the state, through criminal proceedings, injunction, or physical abatement, the same activity or conduct may also create a private nuisance to neighbouring landowners and thus result in a civil suit.' If this is correct (it may not), then the motorcyclist wasn't entitled to physically abate the nuisance (because only the state can physically abate a public nuisance). When he nudged against the protestor with his motorcycle, he was committing an assault, and that woman was coming to the assistance of someone who was being assaulted. The man who got out of the van and ripped up the protestors' banners and then placed them inside his van will have committed criminal damage and theft. This isn't something I know anything about, so I'm happy to be corrected.

Assault is generally defined as an intentional act that puts another person in reasonable apprehension of imminent harmful or offensive contact.
It was most certainly 'offensive contact'.

If the above linked article is correct, only the state is entitled to physically abate a public nuisance. That means means that the motorcyclist was assaulting the protestor when the lady put her hands on him. She wasn't committing an assault; she was trying to prevent an assault. As I said, this conclusion is based on a reading of a single article, which may be incomplete or simply incorrect.

The motorcyclist didn't put anyone at risk. The woman who grabbed the motorcyclists arm while he was in control of a large, powerful motorbike put him, herself and the other protesters in the immediate vicinity at risk of serious harm. Had he lost control because of her action it wouldn't have been pretty

If the linked article is correct, he had no legal right to do that. According to the article, only the state (the police) are entitled to do that. Because he was not legally entitled to make physical contact with the protestor, he committed an assault. The lady was perfectly entitled to come to the assistance of someone who was being assaulted.

I'm not supporting anyone here. I'm vaguely interested in the legal aspects. I'm more than happy to be corrected. I'm not in the least suggesting that my post is in any way a definitive statement of the law.
