Every time we reach the so called Laffer curve ceiling they simply raise it. For all intense and purposes it exists in name only, like unicorns. As for a wealth tax, many wealthy people derive much of the income simply from increases in asset values, getting richer each year just from owning things like land and property. They have no need to sell these items and pay tax on that sale, its dead money sitting with people who already have so much they cannot spend it. Oh we want a wealth tax now - must be due to the stunning success of the one they had in France.. Your point means nothing without the information of what the French wealth tax entailed.

You have a link that says the standing charge is for that amount of investment? And that’ll be a no then Effectively it is, it is to renew and maintain the water supply infrastructure.

Effectively it is, it is to renew and maintain the water supply infrastructure. That’s great but I was asking him about the standing charges on energy meters which he is well aware of.

Investment is paid for by income - the standing charge, along with your metered costs, is income. And as said you cannot answer straight,I asked you about the massive increase in the standing charge you waffled and answered investment which you know is untrue, the increase in the standing charge is to pay for the companies that went down taking customers money because it’s a failed privatisation with a toothless regulator

Hence you are paying more. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

For the final time the increase is not investment it is to cover the failed companies that went down,if you can somehow show that is an investment to benefit customers please do.

It's the same thing, it's to finance and maintain the infrastructure. Having said that, those charges are outside the remit of the watchdogs and I suspect they're on a rip-off........again.

Effectively it is, it is to renew and maintain the water supply infrastructure. That's what they had the original 20% price increase in 2000 for. It was to replace the Thames sewage system and add new reservoirs. But they found a better use for it in lining their pockets, to make them watertight. file:///C:/Users/laptop1/Downloads/assembly-reports-pubserv-water%20(2).pdf

You also know full well which standing charges I refer to or have the attention span of a goldfish and are aware the discussion moved on to other utilities.

I expected better from you but I’ll leave you to your inane ramblings.
