This is not a bad attempt, but there are serious problems with some his arguments.
For instance, if we assume materialism, the idea that consciousness is not a computation (of any kind), gives us a big problem with what the hell other category it could fall into that is even possible.
In my view there is a knock down argument that he missed but it is (maybe) a bit of a cheat -
All the premises of simulation theory rely on the nature of reality, but its conclusion is that this reality is not real.

I can't help but wonder, if we took all the hours scientists have spent on trying to be clever, instead of trying to fix medical / engineering problems, how much better our everyday lives would be?
eg there is wide criticism of how physics has spent too much time on string theory, rather than working with industry to advance technology.
