This last weekend the French FA requested all Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 players to wear shirts with rainbow-coloured numbers as a gesture of support for the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia this coming Wednesday.
Several players at Ligue 1 club FC Toulouse refused to comply and were consequently omitted from the matchday squad by the club.
All the players named are of Maghrebi origin/ancestry and are likely to be Muslim. One, a Moroccan, is quoted in the Guardian as writing on Twitter "...Respect is a value that I hold in great esteem. It extends to others, but it also encompasses respect for my own personal beliefs."
I wonder what would have happened if they had been French Christians.

This is, of course, indirect religious discrimination and the players affected should flag it up for what it is. Meanwhile, churches are being burned down in India, Christians murdered in Nigeria, but I've not seen many gestures of solidarity with them.

So much for french secularism. Liberté, égalité, fraternité - ce n'est pas.
