Could this total prick get anymore desperate?
Keir Starmer to give millions of EU nationals the vote
Starmer will hand the vote to millions of EU citizens if Labour wins the next general election, the Telegraph can reveal.
Under manifesto plans for the biggest expansion of the franchise in almost a century, Starmer will launch a “package of proposals” including votes for settled migrants and 16 and 17-year-olds.

So you like the idea of paying taxes but not being represented in parliament?
"Under the proposals, migrants who live permanently in the UK and pay tax will be able to vote in general elections for the first time."

Why should they need citizenship? They may want to go 'home' at some time but for now they are permanent residents of the UK. If they have citizenship and some will they would be able to go to their country of origin and still vote in our elections.

From memory, if you retain British nationality but become (semi permanently) resident elsewhere, you retain the right to vote in UK general elections for, I think, 10 years.
I tend to think that's about right.

It was actually 15 years. But I believe that the time limit has been scrapped now. Only people eligible to hold a British Passport should be allowed to vote in British elections, and only adults, in my opinion. Otherwise we become open to subversion by foreign powers.

You do indeed but strangely not in local elections. I think it's a bad principle and when I lived in France, on principle I never intended to use my UK vote. Equally I never used my vote in French local elections since I didn't have a grasp of local politics other than learning that in my commune and many others, the maires were often opposed by their left-wing staff.

I absolutely LOVE this idea, and it is 100% perfectly legitimate and the right thing to do
Europeans who have Settled Status in the UK, who live and work here, and pay taxes here, should be able to vote in general elections.
Further more, a Labour government may also give votes to 16 and 17 year olds, and why not ?, if they are old enough to work, pay taxes, fight for their country, why shouldn't they be allowed to vote.

Are you saying they won't need British citezenship? erm excuse me ..... you have never needed British citizenship to vote in UK general elections ANY Irish citizen or citizen from a Commonwealth country, can vote in UK general elections providing they are resident in the United Kingdom, or settled in the United Kingdom.
