Apparently, the death of party democracy means that Conservative Party democracy need reform — enter Conservative Democratic Organisation. Its mission is to strengthen party democracy by ensuring the Conservative Party is representative of the membership and fairly represents their views — remember, that's what got the UK Truss as PM!
Its vision is to re-enfranchise Conservative Party members to be the masters of their own democratic destiny — is that because their choice of Truss was squelched?
President is Peter Cruddas — conferred a life peerage by Boris Johnson, despite the contrary advice of the House of Lords Appointments Commission, which unanimously recommended that the Prime Minister rescind his nomination. It was later reported that he donated £500,000 to the Conservative Party days after being elevated to the House of Lords.
Vice president is Stephen Greenhalgh — In February 2014, Greenhalgh publicly endorsed Johnson's proposal to equip the police with water cannon to be used in the event of a serious outbreak of public disorder. The water cannon, bought by Boris Johnson for £322k, but were sold for scrap for just £11k having never been used.
Chairman is David Campbell Bannerman — member of the Conservative Party: borough councillor in Royal Tunbridge Wells from 1992–1996. Was a member of Ukip from 2004 to 2011. Rejoined the Conservatives and sat with the European Conservatives and Reformists group as a Conservative MEP in the European Parliament until the end of his term in 2019.
There's a conference and Black Tie Gala Dinner in Bournemouth today with Lord Cruddas, Pritti Patel, Nadine Dorries plus various other MPs and media commentators, and VERY special guests.
Won't more splits and anti admin groups within the party lessen the party's already slender chance of winning the next election...?
